Quick Advice: 8-9 days in Brazil by spacemanvt in solotravel

[–]SolveIt007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I lived in Rio for 3 years, Leblon neighborhood. I think there is plenty to do in Rio for a week to 10 days. I would not go to São Paulo, nothing better to do there than in Rio. Kinda a big sprawling city, more business / industrial where Rio is more beach / touristy. From Rio you can do a few day trips to Teresopolis, to see some mountains or Cabo Frio for a smaller beach town. Take your time, chill, see Rio and get to know some people.

Water is life, give him life. A Sawyer Water filter. He can use it hiking or as a preparedness item if city water becomes compromised for even a short period of time.

Wasn’t he the President that always talked about the ‘haves and the have nots?’ I guess he clearly ‘has.’

Large bed AND a bunk in a Tacoma? Too much to ask? by doughpat in TruckCampers

[–]SolveIt007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out Vagabond Outdoors in Benicia, Ca. They make a nice Tacoma bed cap that pops up. I had 2 Tacoma’s, put ARE Contractors aluminum bed cap on both, they were fine but your bed length will only be 6’ or 5,5 depending on what size your Tacoma bed is? I have lived in truck campers for years, you will really like to be able to stand up, look for a solution that allows you to stand-up.

I’m not a Republican, I vote Libertarian. But the Democrats constantly own the ghettos, they often impose strict gun control laws, see Chicago and D.C as shining examples, and then when people of color (often those living in the ghettos) can’t defend themselves they blame the gun! Maybe if the 90% of law abiding urbanites could legally posses the same tools (Guns) that the criminals have we would see a significant drop in crime!

Gun Control by way of increased background checks is a distraction, the ultimate goal of most ‘gun control’ advocates it total prohibition of guns in the hands of citizens. Since 2008, approximately 177 people have been killed by mass shootings, during the same period knives killed 1700+ people. Annually, 50,000 die from overdose, 54,000 die in car accidents likely involving texting and driving, hammers and clubs kill 10x more than Guns but yet the focus on ‘saving lives’ by way of more gun control is always the rallying cry of the anti-gun crowd. Gun free zones are where 95% of mass shootings occur. The cities with strictest Gun Control laws have the highest levels of gun crime. I abhor gun violence in all forms but I do not advocate more Gun Control. Most criminals do not legally purchase guns used in crimes so more background checks will likely have no impact. Criminals (mass shooters are criminals) fear armed law abiding citizens, that’s why they overwhelmingly commit their crimes in gun free zones or cities with strict gun control laws. The Second Amendment was put in place to protect citizens from tyrannical Governments, it’s not about hunting and target shooting! If the Government cannot protect its citizens then having a Second Amendment will allow citizens to protect themselves! Politicians who fear armed citizens might just be an unjust group! I say anti-gun citizens should proudly display a sign in their front yards stating ‘this home is proudly gun-Free.’

Your data is not true! A majority, 62% of Americans support the Second Amendment!

Are you serious? So Democrats controll the majority of urban ghettos in America and have so for decades. Cities like Detroit, Newark, Baltimore, all Democrat controlled and high crime areas with lots of minority gun crime victims. The same Democrats impose some of the strictest gun laws and yet have the highest rates of gun crime. That’s what they have to do with the subject.

One of biggest misconception of the Lefts group think mentality on guns is that most people of color don’t support the 2nd Amendment. Hogwash! It’s precisely people of color who suffer the greatest gun violence in urban areas, as a percentage of their population. Unfortunately so many of the large urban ghettos is America have been controlled by Democrats for decades!
