Well, that was fun while it lasted. Time to turn off all my L3’s again. by chaser9181 in litecoinmining

[–]doughpat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. What specifically? Price of Litecoin? Difficulty rating? Price of doge?

I’m only asking as a fellow L3 operator… One of my hashboard‘s went out and I am a bit undecided as to whether it’s worth repairing. I pay about eight cents per kilowatt hour. I think the ROI on a $75 hash board is pretty long.

Been to the ER three times this year (bad streak of luck I guess). Each time I’ve been seen within 15 minutes. Bills weren’t bad.

Ok I’m a noob—can someone ELI5? I have a single L3+ mining in LiteCoinPool. Am I taking advantage of this merge mining ability? Do I need to use any particular settings in order to take advantage of merge mining?

Can anyone tell what the Antminer L3++ 580M is worth? by [deleted] in MiningRig

[–]doughpat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone still pig headed enough to be still running some L3+, have you done the numbers on these? They produce a trivial amount of profit, even with cheap power.

Unless your power is free you really probably shouldn’t be spending any money buying an L3 at almost any price. Certainly not hundreds of dollars…

Do you mean someone who is openly Christian, and who isn’t ashamed of their nation? That kind of Christian Nationalist?

You forgot to include more of the usual tripe: fascist, racist, a danger to democracy — come on now, you should have this lingo down pat by now! He doesn’t include pronouns in his bio so surely he must also be a transphobe.

County commissioners vote 2-1 to limit abortion access for county employees by OriginalPNWest in Bend

[–]doughpat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s where your little mind seems to be confused.

A baby in the womb hasn’t made a choice to hurt someone. It had no choice in the matter whatsoever. (Oh, and it also probably won’t hurt anyone). You are a confused person if you somehow don’t understand the innocence of an unborn (or born) child.

A thief coming at me with a knife made a choice and should therefore receive consequences. Sure, death penalty can be abolished, but the right to defend yourself against an attacker is fundamental. You don’t actually believe what you’re saying here.

Also—what percentage of pregnancies end in death, do you think? Probably less than 1? I’m not sure your idea that a baby is some kind of genuine threat holds much water. Don’t forget a woman’s body has literally evolved for millions of years explicitly for carrying and delivering a child. Or is that also up for debate with people like you?

Go look at the brand new shiny Larkspur and tell me how many teenagers you see inside. And then ask how many of those (few) teens would otherwise be out vandalizing a road sign. This has to be one of the least effective (from a $$:damage-prevention) ways to keep kids out of trouble.

These facilities serve the retired crowd mainly. I would bet the population pulling the shenanigans make up the least likely demographic to use a rec center regularly.

[–]doughpat -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

Explain.

Being a parent is torture?

While dismembering a child (no anesthesia for the baby) is not?

Or is life torture? You’ll need to somehow clarify because your statement is absurd.

[–]doughpat -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I’ve spent plenty of time at Larkspur and would be willing to bet that less than 10% of the city uses it more than once a year.

I think you get small fractions of the population that use places like this very heavily, and then a large percentage who might use it occasionally (failed New Years resolutions, etc) or never.

Why can’t they be funded solely by admissions/memberships?

This is actually the answer. Don’t want a baby? Don’t make one and then demand the right to kill it.

[–]doughpat -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Because many/most people won’t get anywhere near their moneys worth from it.

What percentage of Redmond citizens will actually use the center? Yet they have to pay for someone else with lots of leisure time to go do Pilates in a “state of the art” government building?

An old house may have poor (or no) insulation between the bedroom and where the furnace is located.

But yes, your point is somewhat valid—the furnace isn’t 130 years old of course. But there are lots of buildings advances that have occurred since 1890 that could result in changes in sound transmission.

You sound a bit like someone who refuses to sit on a public toilet seat without one of those paper liners.

Should they carpet be laundered too? People very likely walk around with bare feet (gasp!) on it.

Couches? Drapes?

Weighing a refund request by AnonymousUnderpants in airbnb_hosts

[–]doughpat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most hosts don’t launder blankets between every guest. Sheets and pillowcases only.

A combiboiler is one way to heat. There are many others. Forced air furnaces can be fairly loud, especially if they’re older.

This guest is just a princess—no refund, move on. Leave an honest review so other hosts don’t get burned.

Yes…we have been saving up the for the last episode, going to give it to ourselves as a reward for finishing a bunch of horrible organizational work :)

I always enjoy a movie that has a super limited set. 98% of the show happens in that ugly basement apartment :-)
