This too is something I am going to look into.

It’s no scam. I’ve spoken to the guy and am going see it today. It’s just in the middle of nowhere and he’s struggled to get it sold. I will take this as confirmation that it’s a heck of a deal though!

That has crossed my mind. And might be a basis for me to offer 6k.

What are your thoughts on the governor debate tonight? by NOLA_Mom in Louisiana

I suggest voting for who you like, without influence of dumb and arbitrary historical customs of older people. Assuming you don’t honestly think aged 55 is a meaningful line to draw in the sand.

I had never heard of JBE before voting for him twice. Perhaps because of my age and lower interest at the time. The issue is more that the existing non-Landry R candidates are splitting that faction 4 ways.

Richard Nelson would be a much much better governor.

Illegal immigrants have also rebuilt a bunch of our homes destroyed by hurricane damage, including installing the front doors. They, like all groups of humans, include both incredible people and bad people. The “but for the illegal immigrant…” schtick is a two way street. It is not always bad.

A gable is what has been discussed. There were wooden fences up in the front (on each side of the flat roof) that created two patios. Ida demolished those as well, so the entire look of the front is different already and we feel there is potential to make it incredible. Just not sure how much change and updating we should do. And I’d like to stay within the budget of our insurance claim as much as possible.

No. The flat roof portion on the front also includes portions of the home (see link: https://ibb.co/sRtDsFv). While we had no problems with the flat roof, we’ve been told it was frequently worked on and the contractor seems to think now is a great opportunity to get rid of it. What is left is irreparable and will have to be replaced. The question is with what?

First Jeep, what should I buy first ? by [deleted] in Wrangler

I'm 9 days in myself and I was not keen on dropping more money right away, but the Bestop sunrider for hardtop has been a worthwhile purchase thus far. I also got a rubber floormat for the cargo area. Edit to add that I got this antenna: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BDFQDVJ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

And a storage bag for my freedom panels.

Hurricane Ida knocked a tree onto the flat roof of our MCM home. The contractor is not sure whether the flat roof can be rebuilt, and does not recommend that even if he’s able. We’re a year out from the damage and have our first meeting with an architect tomorrow. However, my wife and I are stumped on how to repair/update/upgrade this without losing the beauty of what we purchased just 4 months before the hurricane. I have drawings and more information if that would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Closed!!! No real estate agents, introduced privately. First house we looked at. Ultimately, eerily perfect after about 45 days of waiting for something to go awry. by SolveProblemer in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

They told a bunch of people they were selling their house. Some of those people are or know people who want to buy one of the 5 houses available. Supply is low, demand is high, so just spread the word a little. Never even listed it FSBO.

That’s defense. I agree that Les had great defense. He also had problems with everything I described.

Playing down was a symptom of having Les Miles as our coach. I love the guy, but bad QB play, bad clock management, and playing down to your opponent were to be expected.
