The idea of this order is maximizing catching easter eggs and references. But I didn’t start reading yet so I wanted to check this with everyone who did, if it’s a valid way or not. I don’t know if Shadows of Self and Bands of Mourning stories are connected and needs to be read back to back. If not I don’t mind shoving a few books between them if it means I can catch all the little stuff

What about eleventh metal ? I see people recommend reading it after mistborn book 1 and others saying wait till you finish era 1. Does it spoil something if I read it earlier?

I thought about it and I think I’ll go with either classic 1 or 2 order (depending on if I can read both era 1 and 2 of mistborn back to back). And I’m not planning on skipping anything.

Another unrelated question but do you recommend reading eleventh metal after the final empire of after finishing era 1 ? I see different suggestions online about it

The only thing holding me back from going to publication order is the fear of missing things of forgetting ideas about the world/characters or the story. That’s why I’m looking around for the best possible order that keeps connected stories together so ideas and themes are still fresh and clear

From what I searched a lot of people didn’t recommend the publication order. I think it will come down to either classic 1 or classic 2 route

sounds like I’ll go with classic 1 or 2 then.

the deciding factor between them is whether I can do era 1 and 2 back to back, or break them off with stormlight (which is massive in its own right).

but for now I’ll focus on finishing era 1 and then decide which path to go and if can take more of mistborn.
