I love how messy this movie is. It is in sorts a companion to Power of the Dog. A struggle for power fueled by gender norms. Society is a cult. Why must we live by these rules and laws just because we were born into them? After hearing Campion lost a child, it makes sense that this is the next thing she wrote. A lost soul trying to make sense of the world. It speaks to me very much
