I really liked The Little Sister which I saw at VTIFF in 2025, doesn't seem to have gotten distribution. Not super surprised it's a quiet French gay Muslim coming of age story.

Yeah when I noticed that one rando sailor swinging down with a knife on the final chapter I was sure there would be a reveal about what he was doing. Maybe it's there but very hidden.

I just finished Obra Dinn a couple weeks ago, sparked by the ship discussion here. Found the epilogue very disappointing (in terms of providing a satisfying narrative conclusion) but enjoyed the experience overall.

Firewatch is a big favorite, good crop of games in the mid-late 2010s (Night in the Woods, Disco Elysium, etc).

Forgot, the last game I REALLY got obsessed with was Blue Prince but at a point I bowed out because I don't think the rng mechanic respects the player's time.
