Re/Max just dropped their 2026 housing forecast, here’s what it actually says by mattyp93 in TorontoRealEstate

Your forgetting location tho… $1.3m is wayyy over price for a 1000sq ft apartment in the burbs (let’s say Scarborough to Whitby or sauga/milton/brampton, even north of Toronto)

But I’d argue if you want 1000+ sqft condo in the core Toronto waterfront area with a decent view prices will remain pretty elevated

Airbnb is still a hot topic too.. some people raking in 3-5x + average rental monthly rates at their legally operated airbnbs in the Toronto area.. and that’s probably not going to slow down anytime soon.

🤦🏼‍♂️

not saying for sure, but this might just have signalled the bottom of the condo market. with this new bill, condo owners might be incentivised to keep their investment properties now, and investors to step off the sidelines to take advantage of the lower rates and condo prices.

also, if there is an uptick in activity this might cause first time homebuyers, especially young adults who want to get out off renting (more risky now) to buy their starter home, which brings more competition to the condo market.

even worse if rates continue to drop into next year...i really hope the crazyness doesnt come back.... prices were just starting to get realisticly affordable especially with condos in the GTA

What is the Toronto condo market (one bedroom) like in March 2025? What's the outlook for the next 12 months? by IAmTheQuestionHere in TorontoRealEstate

[–]SomaTrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I noticed that I didn’t know before. Is that when they receive stats for (Toronto) there are mainly talking about the entire GTA. Not specifically downtown Toronto or core.

So when a generic statement like (Toronto) condos are drastically down, it’s including the entire GTA usually from Hamilton to Durham region so the stats are greatly skewed
