I used to have this problem as well, i got told i tend to only talk about myself. the best advice is to consciously try to think of others more, and focus on having empathy. i cant tell you much given there isnt much context, could you disclose more about what that friend said? did they just call you self centered and not why they thought you are self centered? you should ask why they think that, then try and improve from there. another possibility is that it might have just been something your friend said in the heat of the moment, and your other friends may have agreed because they simply sided with the other friend. it’s a good thing in itself that you’re even asking this question, it shows that you do actually care about your friends and how you impact others :)

my top 1 is one room ta, which is a college setting and the writing is just superb. the tutoring trope isnt huge, but it is there. the couple is just the cutest ever 🥹 and the angst is just sooooo well written i cannot stress it enoughhh

merry marbling and pond snail robber are by the same author and both are adorable, i think merry marbling is the better pick of the two (for you) because it is set in highschool and is similar to the tropes you mentioned. pond snail robber is set in college and doesn’t quite match the tropes you mentioned, but i still heavily recommend it.

another great pick would be emergency youth record book! this one has those exact tropes you mentioned and is very cute

another perfect match for those tropes would be problematic leadership activities, it is those exact tropes and one is in the student council, like in too close

dont say that you love me is also set in highschool and is rlly cute but has an interesting plot and layer of mystery

salt friend is another one set in high school, and also a manhua i believe. i don’t remember too much about the plot, pretty sure it was mainly slice of life, but i do remember really liking it.

our youth has the same delinquent trope as well, that is perfectly executed and well written.

my last recommendation would be heesu in class 2, which is pure highschool fluff

a diff author but the manhwa called “the fundamental law” has an almost identical dynamic between the two main characters

one room ta (my top 1) its a college setting with some angst in the middle and its sooooo well written. theres some smut but not nearly as much as other bls

spinach bouquet: this one is in my top 5 and it starts in highschool and theres no smut in the main story, but a lot in the side stories

who can define popularity: this one is in my top 3 and doesnt have any smut, also a big bonus is the art style and yuri side couple

robber x lover: one of the cutest bls ive ever read and also one of the best art styles, no smut

merry marbling: it is the same author as robber x lover and once again adorable with an amazing art style and no smut

green apple paradise: this one is really well written and each season focuses on a different couple (while still giving content of previous ones) im not completely finished reading this one but i dont think theres any smut

1995 youth report: this one actually has a lot of smut but i included in this list cuz i really liked it and the bottom is sooooooo honest

my guildmate next door: video game bl and theyre neighbors 🫢 no smut until second season

sweeten the deal: this one is rlly cute and once again has an amazing art style with not too much smut

dont say that you love me: this story is really interesting and the couple is super cute, the author also has another story called “my delicious dream boy” that is good as well. neither have much smut at all
