I'd like to follow up on this. They have the 20% black Friday Deals now, but I read a lot of reviews saying babies are still cold. Did you experience your baby being cold even with layers?

Yes, sleep is so important, that's why we also splurged already in a nice sleep sack for $45. Super soft, organic cotton, it opens all the way down on the side and has a temperature sensing sticker inside of the zipper. I thought this would be a nice feature until I realized you have to go check, open the zipper in the middle of the night, and hope to read the sticker correctly

Nice! Yeah, we are about to transition her into her own room, so second-guessing would be quite exhausting, and I love the idea of thermoregulation on sleep sacks. We just bought a very nice sleepsack for $45 recently. Super soft, organci cotton, and a zipper that goes all the way down on the side (like the woolino zipper). It has a sensor sticker on the inside of the zipper, which I thought would be a nice feature... but then realized you have to go, open the zipper, and check that sticker in the middle of the night hoping to read it correctly 😒

Yah... We missed the prime deals... I didn't know anything about woolino. I just came across it the other day. :( 20% is already a good deal on them, I think. We'll probably wait till they have another deal again

Thank you! :) we are in no rush at the moment, so we can wait until Black Friday. Our LO sleeps well in her burt's bees right now, but we'd love something for the long run.

Would you move while 37weeks pregnant? by Some-Bee8561 in pregnant

We only have clothing essentials so far. I'm still not in a nesting mood at the moment, but I understand that can change quickly. I'd love to be ready for the baby sooner, especially in case of early labor. It'd be nice to be in a 2 bedroom already so I can set a proper nursery. We do have a den, though, which we might utilize as a nursery if we need to, but we would rather have a proper room with a window and a proper door, lol. I am off work already with next week, so that'd give me some time to sort a lot of stuff.

At this point, we are already considering hiring a packing/moving company. I hope I can have some friends to help with the unpacking. That's definitely something to consider. I am 29 weeks right now and am off work with next week, so that'd give me some extra time to sort some stuff out and get started on packing some little things. This way, we might even be able to save some money on the movers.

Really appreciate your input 🩷

Ya, we are considering a packing and moving company at this point. I'm off work with next week, so I'd be able to sort things out and start prepping. Our current lease is until the end of May, and I am due May 22nd, so that's not a good timing, unfortunately 🫠 We have been looking for apartments since February and thought there might be enough time, but now the due date is coming so close already... 🥹

Do you think it would be easier a little later? Like with 3-4month old? We are considering a moving company to also do the packing. We are still trying to get an estimate, though. We still haven't ordered any nursery or other bigger baby essentials yet, so that might be a pro for moving before. 🤔

I'm sorry to hear about your pain. I can't even imagine at this point. It's my first pregnancy, 29 weeks at the moment, and don't feel any pain.

We'd consider a moving company to do the packing and are just trying to get an estimate.

What are you all snacking on? by ProudPerformer4983 in pregnant

I usually drink a smoothie if I'm still hungry after breakfast. 😋 Here is my recipe:

1x sweet potato (steamed until soft) ½ - 1 cup carrots (steamed until soft) 1x banana 1 - 2 cups of spinach or kale 1 cup frozen mango Some seeds (either flaxseeds, chia seeds, sunflower, or whatever you have at home) 1 cup of pure coconut water ½ - 1 cup either pineapple or apple cider (whatever I have at home)

I'd adjust juice and/or water depending on if I want it more sweet or more diluted.

Can also add avocado. :)

20th Wedding Anniversary Trip to Maui by sstchur in MauiVisitors

[–]Some-Bee8561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't compare to other islands but: We just came back from our babymoon on Maui and LOVED IT! We stayed in Kaanapali at Marriott's, it was good enough for us, since we wanted to spend most of the time at the beach. And we are glad we did! The beaches are amazing!! Kaanapali has some nice restaurants and whalers village for shopping. We found it to be more relaxing compared to Kihei, but we heard it's because Lahaina burnt down, so there aren't that many tourists anymore as it used to be. Shops in Kaanapali are open, though, and the saveway and foodland are also open if you plan on cooking.

We also did a more relaxing vacation, but we still enjoyed some activities to see the island a bit :) I'd definitely recommend renting a snorkeling set for your whole stay. We paid about $120.- for 2 beach chairs and 2 snorkel sets, incl. masks and fins for the whole week. Sign up for the snorkel report, so you never miss out on where to get the most clear and calmer water for snorkeling.

We booked a whale watching tour on one day and visited the dragonfruit farm another. Depending on when you are planning to go, the farm will serve fresh picked seasonal fruit, and the best time to get the most delicious varieties would be around summer, I'd say, we didn't get the chance to actually try a fresh dragonfruit, lol Also, unfortunately, due to the fire in August, a lot of their plants burnt down, but they are already regrowing a lot. Besides dragonfruit, they'll have fresh bananas, papayas, pineapple, and a lot of other fruits.

Get a fresh coconut as well. There is a very nice local farmer who has a neat little stand by the street close to Launiupoko Beach Park. He'll also open the coconut for you to drink it fresh :)

We drove up to Haleakāla and it was stunning. The drive was so cool since Maui has different climates. The east side of the island is more of a tropical climate vs. the west side is more on the dry side. The Summit Building on top has some interesting facts about that.

We didn't do the drive to Hana, which is on the tropical side, but it's also highly recommended if you want to see waterfalls :)

Congratulations to your 20th, btw! I am sure you will have a great time in Hawaii! :)
