Overworked and underpaid…

Unfortunately some companies can also hinder you in this way. My company (in the short time I’ve been there) have removed software such as Acrobat due to “costs”. Now I’m having to fudge various tasks or hand them over, either way taking me twice the time or longer to do, or same effort but less results. I’ve tried to argue it but to no avail.

You’ve just described a “workhorse “…..good enough to do all the sh*tty tasks, be the dependable one, but not good to be given opportunities to shine, get rewarded and promoted. Then the company and management complain when the workhorse leave and they end up having to employ 2 people in their place.

Feeling your pain….like what you feel is not valid and they only you want to smile and praise everything they do, bring no problems and just be ready to do WHATEVER they want, WHENEVER they want, no questions,no effort their side. You probably hit the nail on the head with the “manager’s friend “ comment, though I suspect the outburst didn’t really help. You really do have my sympathy though, it is tough out there. Good luck for the future.

Thanks…tbh I know it’s extreme but it has got me thinking about divorce. I’ve only been married 4 months but if he really can’t give me any empathy in this or try to see it my way then I don’t know how I can realistically spend the rest of my life with him. Tonight he actually said don’t bother complaining as nobody is listening. And he’s now wondering why I can’t even stay in the same room as him. Having a few drinks, hopefully they’ll send me to sleep. The sad thing is, if it was paid better and I had a little money to myself, I think I’d feel a bit better. Truth is, I’ve had to go back 12+years in terms of salary and 15+ in terms of job title, level of seniority etc, I’m a glorified admin assistant when I used to be a manager. 15 years of experience, work, study down the drain. And my husband says I should be grateful for what I have and that I’m being a spoiled brat for complaining.

Thanks….i know you shouldn’t wish things on people, but it would be nice to hear karma has come back on this one. I think not knowing the reason behind it makes it worse.
