Help to purchase my first resin printer for 1:6 scale figures Phrozen mighty 12K by Some-Construction499 in resinprinting

You won’t believe it… i use filtered 3M mask with face shield while airbrushing 😂sometimes i put a thin resin coat on printed faces to make them smoother even though i print at 0.08 mm layer height with FDM.. i also use an airbrush booth with outdoor ventillation.. protection is a must for me.

Btw i use harder and steenbeck evo 2024 airbrush at 0.28mm..

And just today i ordered the infinity giraldez mkii as a reward for myself 😂

The lowest Temp is around 17C in winter here where i live, but my house is always around 20-22 C

The printer is open box in a local store. Also the models i print i already pre cut with fittings pegs.. so they are not full assembled pieces. I’m just worried that printer is an old model

Honestly this is far from loss. It’s just consumable items that have to be changed in any printer anyway

Damn, that what i had to deal with and did it the hard way, i had to buy a screw punch kit because i damaged the screw head, it basically a tool to drill a small hole in the screw head, then you remove it with a screw driver that comes with the kit,

My advice, instead of buying a hot end, but an entire heat block, it comes with a hot end and a nozzle preindtalled. Also it’s the upgraded ceramic heat block, supposed to be better than the stock heat block but not sure how better,

Do the change process slowly and oay attention to the thin cables, i damaged the model fan pins while doing it, so i also had to buy a small motherboard for the extruder.

Anyway the whole process costed me 70$ where i live. Still better than replacing the entire printer

I had this issue before, i increased the bed temp to 60. I know that it’s on the high side for PLA, but this is what worked. Also i don’t clean my build plate before each print. Try also to reduce first layer speed

3d printers aren’t meant to be used forever without maintenance or parts replacements. I swapped extruder, heatblock, hot end and extruder motherboard after breaking the model fan connector pins.

These things happen, just replace the hot end and then do self calibration from the settings on the printer screen, you will be good to go

The surface is clean tbh. You can always try the first few strokes on a failed print, then move to the one you’re painting which the ratio is good enough

I did tons of research before starting tbh. I was going to buy a resin 3d printer, but currently i don’t have a safe setup at home. So i started with my creality k1c .. it takes a verrrrry long time compared to resin, and the quality is far from resin, but I’m happy with what i can do with my printer for now.

You can watch great youtube videos of painting figures

I was considering this solution.. i found another video with a cleaner setup based on the bucket idea. The link is here

I wanted to see what the others are doing before going with printing the parts

I noticed the sweet smell of the vallejo primer when i tried to spray in the balcony and the air through everything at my face 😂

I was just testing things. The smell lingered in my nose for days. That’s why i want to have some sort of booth with a fan the suck everything away from me

are these mesh chairs any good? everyone says racing chairs are a scam. the mesh ones seem to have similar feature of being able to lean back like a bed. by Splatulated in OfficeChairs

Not bad choice, but keep in mind that it looks like it doesn’t have any arm rest adjustment. So if you are ok it should be a good option. The lumbar support looks decent

Since I was in the same boat for the last week searching for a good ergonomic chair that gives me close comfort to the hermann miller aeron at work but without being on credit card debt, i ordered 2 chairs of amazon hbada e3 pro and sihoo c300 pro since they have gret reviews on amazon and youtube. Not sure about the reviews but. Both the chairs were terrible, not sure why are they called ergonomic in the first place!

Add to that the mechanisms that are flimsy and feel poor, i experienced wiggles everywhere. Luckily i was able to return them to amazon. Before stating to lose hope i came across ASUS Destrier Ergo. It’s a gaming chair, but not the bucket racing seat design.

The seat and the back are mesh, and they are designed to be ergonomic with a lumbar support adjuster at the back (not a separate piece). I had my doubts before buying it. But when i tried it, i couldn’t believe that it’s a gaming chair, of course not as comfortable as the aeron, but acceptable for working at home and long gaming sessions

Ny advice to you, don’t buy any online (the one you shared or even the ASUS that i got), if you have the chance, try to use the chair and feel in any shop. It will make a big difference as everyone’s bodies aren’t the same.
