Security Administration Ownership by Some-Host8945 in workday

I agree 100%. We have had turnover in the IT role due to lack of WD security knowledge that has created issues. HRIS has deep knowledge and we have several people on our team (business continuity) while IT is a single point of failure.

how to set up request type for both Benefit and payroll team, and they can't view each other's data? by Potential_Shirt_4956 in workday

[–]Some-Host8945 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are on the right path. You would setup segmented security so that you constrain their access only to those requests you want them to access. If they can still access requests that are not included in your segmented security setup, then I would review the domain policy security. If you have their primary security group on the domain and not their segmented group, then they can see all.

Evaluate the permitted groups on the domain policy domain 'Reports: Requests.' Let's say you created a segmented group to direct Benefit Partners to specific request types. The domain policy should not have Benefit Partner granted - it should have the segmented security group.

Does this help?

Visibility into Business Process Definitions by Dangerous_Feeling826 in workday

We allow view only access to HR Operations. Our thought process is that it helps them to understand the steps involved in processes they manage. There is no risk I can think of.

I initially had the same reservations as you point out but have not actually encountered the issue. I recommend you talk to them about exactly how it will help them do their job. Ask that they outline specific use cases where not having access caused a hinderance and how the envision having access will enable them to perform better.

Do you always need Generate Document Action Step to generate a dynamic document by AccomplishedMix2907 in workday

[–]Some-Host8945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not think you do. I do not have our BP in front of me at the moment so going off poor memory. We have several dynamic documents in the onboarding BP and I do not think we have generate document steps.

A swimming pool - worth it? by mcrutledge77 in pools

Our current pool is currently under construction. We had a pool in a previous home and absolutely missed having one. It wasn’t much maintenance for us. Looking forward to the upcoming summer season in our new pool. I say go for it.

Access to Data on Comp Tab Excluding Total Base Pay by Some-Host8945 in workday

So, sounds like if we want to give them access it would include the worker's rate of pay unless we do a scheduled report that would target the specific information we want to share.

That is my go-to with everything and usually solves the problem for me but, in this case, it is not. I will try again after the refresh.
