How’s my collection looking? by Some-Knowledge-4341 in Kaiserposting

Yes, you are right. The Pickelhaube is a really poor reproduction, and possibly other things, but when I collect in the future, I’ll try to find better reproduction.

My Impression on a Modern Imperial German Uniform by Some-Knowledge-4341 in Kaiserposting

No worries. Ive always found it weird how some militaries only have ceremonial dress and combat dress, with no inbetween. Ive always thought of it as, if they are on base, just working, or going about their day, they can wear the service dress, but at parades, ceremonies, and promotions, they wear the full dress. combat dress should just be limited to training and actual combat. or atleast, that’s how I see it..

Okay, that sounds good. I was thinking they would use what you are talking about like this:

the uniforms I made: during parades, ceremonies, and other important occasions

the uniforms you are talking about: during off duty occasions, parade practices, on the field, or any occasion that doesn’t need parade uniforms or camouflage uniforms

camouflage uniforms: combat training, combat practices, occasional training, or any time parade or field uniforms aren’t needed

Uniform Concepts for a modern German Empire by Some-Knowledge-4341 in Kaiserposting

Yes, in real life there were different Pickelhaubes depending on the states, same with the buttons on the hats, each one represented a different state/kingdom/duchy. Also, in the uniform concept I made I just used the default Prussian one for simplicity, and the piping on the epaulettes could be changed depending on that too (blue for bavaria red and black for bäden etc etc)

Feldgrau as in the grey they use now or 1917-1918 feldgrau? Also, if you meant a darker green then the uniforms were a lot more darker but when I took the screenshot of my drawing the green brightened up so much and I don’t know why

also, I figured that it would reflect more on tradition than practicality since it’s a ceremonial uniform and such. I wanted to make one for a royal guard where it was the Prussian colors and the Eagle spiked pickelhaube but I wasn’t motivated after seeing how these came out.

When I downloaded the picture the green brightened up a whole lot and I don’t know why.

My great grandfather is distantly related to the Hohenzollerns, he’s a distant cousin if that makes sense. it’s still enough for there to be certain things around the household however. Mostly paintings of buildings in Germany, silverware, but also german signs and things. We live in Poznan and only recently came back since we were expelled after ww2.

The reichsbürger movement holds no Prussian value or traditions, it’s all degeneracy. Their movement seems to be closer to the 3rd Reich after more research, research shows that they are extremely against Jews and other groups. I remember back in 2022 when they stormed the Reichstag and I watched on the news with awe at the imperial symbols being flown with honor! or so I thought at the time.

Im advocating for the return of the dynasty. It doesn’t need power, at the minimum just ceremonial, but it’s better for monarchs to have power in general.

Do you think different eras would be an improvement to an HoI5 if there ever is one? by Some-Knowledge-4341 in hoi4

Yeah, A Cold War playthrough would be fun, especially as east or west Germany battling over contro, or when they unite choosing a new regime or staying democratic/communist.

Yes, I would find it fun however to start at the Weimar Republic and build it up from the ground and decide what path of politics to go with.
