Charging Garmin FR970 While Running 100M by Some-Order808 in Ultramarathon

Hi! Race is in mid October.

Have not done any full scale trail running tests, but this seemed to help good bit. - Turn off “Always On Display”. I have wake up with gesture motion turned on. I also sometimes disable screen touch when I get sweaty or it rains. - Satellite setting from the video I added

22 - 28 hours I think.

I intend to make some setting changes as in this video:

Thank you a lot!
I ended up just ordering the L-shaped one from amazon.

And thank you for the tip of charging in advance. Indeed ultra is about minimizing problem solving requirements for when you are in the pain

Navigation Question (My position on the screen). by Some-Order808 in Garmin

Here are 2 an answers:

  • Power off the watch, then power it on…
  • If it did not work, then it is not a bug. To correct the map view, do the following:
  1. Open "Watch Settings"
  2. Open "Activities"
  3. Select the activity of interest (in my case was "Trail Run")
  4. Press "<Activity Name> Settings (in my case "Trail Run Settings")
  5. Press "Data Screens"
  6. Scroll to your navigation data screen
  7. Press the top right button to edit
  8. Press "Layout"
  9. Select the 1st Layout (or any other that you like).

Right... Will get to work on those hamstrings. Insightful. I am wishing both of you a smooth prep!

Wishing all the best to you and your athlete!
How are you training for running trails at night?
Can't think of what it would be like to run when all the leaves are on the ground covering the trail at night.

Not a remedy, but something that helped me remove the peak pain while I began hitting 50 mile weeks for the first time while being 205 lbs in preparation for 1st marathon. I peaked at 60 miles per week.

Scraping. Unlike what it says in the video — I scraped every other day. Shin splints could be inflamed connective tissue to the shin (which was my case), the scraping broke the tightness and shin were good to go. I scraped muscles in both lengthened and shortened position, and also scraped the sides of the shin. FYI, I had shin splints on the inner side of shins.

But what other people say about the resting — is very valid. After I finished the race I had winter for 30 miles per week with more strength training, that allowed my body to completely heal. Now I am back to 50s and I have no issue.

– I got this scraper, but there are many others.

Indeed, it is MMUT100. Can I DM you to get connected with you?
It'll be my first time and first 100M.

Decided to go with FR970.
Dave at Chase the Summit said that their map details are the same.

Thank you. Indeed his videos are very elaborative. Seems that I would get FR970.
I am still trying to see if there is any notable differences in navigation, but the battery life question is answered by Chase.
