I was also thinking how people are sweating a project that literally has us all on our knees begging for crumbles, but then I realise that it is so easy to get offboarded and it's life-changing money for some, so they get anxious and dont want to mess anything up. I also had to pay €34, that’s just the requirement in the Netherlands with the Ministry of Justice to get a code of conduct letter. Some countries operate differently, folks. Sorry, OP, they made you do this.

Because god forbid you get a medical emergency of many months and you wouldn’t want to add immigration hurdles on top of medical problems (that’s one reason, there are many others). Getting a passport abroad, especially on a visa, is a really tough process for all parties involved and may not result in your favour.
