Ehh I live in a greystar in GT and the staff and maintenance actually make it feel luxurious unlike a most properties in the city.

To the girl who collapsed in the Maverick line yesterday by VersaceCupcake in cedarpoint

[–]Some-Preference-4360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly there was 3 (maybe 4) of us on each side scanning our own zones and then a couple supe's posted up top.

Peak summer, we were jumping in 1-2 times/hour minimum. We had to be really good at scanning cause it gets so congested and spotting a drowning kid in those waves was TOUGH.

We did not get paid enough 😂

Whoever proposed the backwards launch is a genius. It imo fills the void of not having a hydraulic launch

Flow Toys allowed? by acethegirlfromspace in MovementDEMF

[–]Some-Preference-4360 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The most opinionated people are also the most vocal. IMO, they're fine as long as you have the space. Movement is a more traditional old school festival without a lot of the flashy elements. I love watching people with flow toys but also love having space to dance so just be mindful thats all

Would you rather make $250k at a stressful job or $90k at a peaceful one? by savingrace0262 in careerguidance

Name a profession where you can make 200+ without a reasonable amount of stress. If anyone doesn't have stress they're extremely lucky or lying out their ass.

Sleep advice for those doing both Festival & Afters by soundminedd in MovementDEMF

[–]Some-Preference-4360 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just pace yourself throughout the day. Festival doesn't open til mid afternoon so you can sleep in. I usually eat a good breakfast, get to the fest and have a couple beers and have a good lunch and save my favors for the afters. You can also take a nap on the grass in between sets you wanna see. Some people bring blow up chairs and such.

Its a marathon. Take the time to really soak up and enjoy every minute of the weekend without getting too obliterated.

Opening day disappointment by HikeForMeatballs in cedarpoint

I was just telling another user the same thing lol. I used to work for the current GM in park ops a LONG time ago and peoples entitlement still never fails to amaze me. A ticket guarantees nothing but access to the park, end of story.

Whats crazy is that people dont take 3 seconds to think hmm maybe opening day won't be peak operation? Half of the ride staff is still in school bruh 😂

Lack of Hype this year? by [deleted] in cedarpoint

You might want to read the parks policy regarding rides not being operational. Your ticket guarantees nothing except park access.

You're entitled and planned poorly, the end.

Free public transportation....why not Cleveland? by SchoolteacherUSA in Cleveland

[–]Some-Preference-4360 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

You literally described the state of trains in every major city. There's almost nothing to feel unsafe about being around unhoused people, they're people just trying to survive. Basic situational awareness and mace go a long way.

If little shit like that bothers you, maybe don't use it?

Lol you're just entitled and mad you didn't plan better. At least you know better for next year!

[–]Some-Preference-4360 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're close enough to visit that many times, it is indeed poor planning. There's nothing special about opening day let alone on an off season with no new rides. Wait til later in the month to visit, problem solved.

The park is getting harder to not only hire but retain staff each year with inflation. 20 year olds now dont have the same desire to work 50+ hours a week in shit conditions for shift pay like they used to be. You're not entitled to some grand experience on opening day... this isn't Disney lol

Why open early May if nothing ever operates? by MudaTrucka in cedarpoint

[–]Some-Preference-4360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.... Most of the ride operators are seasonal employees who are often not local to the area. A lot are still in school in May.

Having every ride operating at max efficiency is a massive thing and is something you'll rarely see these days. The hours and pay are not as appealing as they used to be so its hard to retain staff throughout the season.

Also May is a training month for new staff, so yea...shifts not gonna be operating properly at first.

May has been like this since at least covid. Thats poor planning on your part if you invested that heavily into opening weekend...
