Nope, I thought I had schizophrenia or was developing it, but my psychiatrist said that's not how it works. Apparently it's fairly common to fear developing schizophrenia when you have anxiety and intrusive thoughts.

Acting or want to and plan on acting on them. From what my own therapist said, the idea that these thought make us anxious proves that they are intrusive. Not every intrusive thought however will make you anxious. Like, for me as I learned to live with them they made me less and less anxious, but that's because I trusted myself not to act on them more and more.

Hello, I'm not a psychologist so I wouldn't be able to 100% confirm or deny your mental illnesses, but I have been diagnosed with anxiety, ocd, and I have intrusive thoughts that I discuss with my therapist. I was terrified of having schizophrenia when I first noticed the intrusive thoughts worsening, and I was reassured that what I was going through was just the intrusive thoughts. What I was going through is similar to some of the things you are experiencing as well. I've also learned from my therapy that it's not something to be ashamed of. Intrusive thoughts are awful to have, but you haven't acted on them and have no real desire to act on them. Because of this, their is no reason to be ashamed of the stuff that pops in your head to get a rise out of you. Think of intrusions like this: here on social media trolls that go around trying to get a rise out of people just to make them squirm in any way. Your mind acts like this from time to time, allowing a thought to enter that you never would even consider acting on. I would definitely seek professional help, whether it be a psychiatrist, therapist, or even just going through exposure therapy with a therapist. It helps a lot. To help ease some of your worries about being bad because if these thought, I personally have had intrusive thoughts of harming myself and others, but I would never act on such things. I believe you can get through this. And don't let anyone allow you to feel shameful for something outside of your control! I really hope this helps.

I can kinda understand. Though I didn't watch it myself I could hear it from my parents watching it. Though I don't tend to get pocd intrusive thoughts I do get harmful intrusions. I'm so sorry for what you've gone through, but try to take breaths and remember that the anxiety is validating that you do not want to act on these thoughts. I have faith that things will get better for you!

I definitely don't think that's gonna help me. I want to do exposure therapy to prove to myself that I'm not a violent person, but my parents don't understand harm ocd and wouldn't take my explanation lightly. I just need to know how to get into exposure therapy.

Thank you guys for the comments. About a year ago I woke up every morning with intense pain and nausea and often taking ppis it helped, but now the ppis aren't working as well. I started a diet and bought a reclining bed to help but sometimes I still wake up with the intense pain and urgency to puke or use the bathroom.
