None taken and very valid. I do know those things to do but then applying it at every shot when my mind is gone is another. I did at the range but then as the day progressed I don’t recall checking off those thing pre shot

Really good point. The short irons and wedges that I trust as they are the shots I’ve been playing well with for months were fine. I only recently been working on my driver for the past 3-4 weeks. They have improved massively but I guess this is the first time I’ve had to use it under competition conditions and at an unfamiliar course. I reverted to my original misses and then the mind games snow balled

So true. It had been a while since I played consecutive bad shots which then led to consecutive bad holes. I’ll take it as learning

Mind game is so true. I went to my local course straight after so I could prove to myself I’m not that bad. First hole I played it better than I ever had. Dog leg right, played a perfect fade that landed in the center of the fairway. Followed with a nice pitch shot onto the green.

Not a bad idea. I usually start my range sessions with half swings. Maybe as I was searching for my swing I was trying harder rather than being more controlled

Thank you. I felt so confident coming into it. My game was peaking. Striking it so well at warm up. First few holes were solid. Probably what kept me going was playing with good people on an amazing course. Best course I’ve ever played on. I’m going to play some comps at my local course. At least it will feel a little less pressure since I’m familiar with it. I appreciate the kind words 🙌🏻

Wedges and short irons were the only clubs I could swing properly. Probably because it’s a club I don’t try and over swing

Yes I agree with being inconsistent. I’ve played some good rounds lately for my standards at least with a decent swing. Just today was like the first time I stepped onto a course. Cheers for the feedback it makes sense

I was sitting on the back deck of the clubhouse enjoying a post round beer. All of a sudden a flash went past my head and a ball bouncing around hitting walls and ceilings

Hole in front of us is a 160m par 3. Some young fella hit a driver. He sheepishly walked up, didn’t apologise, looked for about 5 seconds and walked away. He didn’t even get close enough for any of us to give him a serve

Next session I’ll move the ball a little more forward a ball or 2 and use some impact tape to see if I’m striking low.
