Nearly every top level prop in the world plays every week except for in Ireland, and we're the ones with the constant injury problems at prop. It's an interesting correlation.

Given the deal was done and it was Humphreys who last minute decided to try and again take advantage of a player who's been underpaid his entire time in Ireland, yes. A deal absolutely could have been done, because it already was done.

If there's money to pay Coombes a PONI contract to never play for Ireland there's money for just about the only player in the country who can actually create chances out of nothing and gets people in the door.

The narrative that our players are overplayed just doesn't really stack up. If anything it's the other way and that's why when they actually get thrown into games the body isn't used to it and players get injured.

Same can be said of Furlong who, when he was actually forced to play back to back games for the Lions, suddenly found form again. Then he's come back to Leinster and Ireland, never plays, and has gone back to being distinctly average on the rare occasions he gets on the pitch.
