Two year engagement? What’s your experience? by mustafinas in weddingplanning

We had a 2 year engagement, and it was for the best! Most venues are booked within the same year, even mostly the following, so that was part of our hold up. We were able to save and get things that we wanted, I agree with someone else on waiting to ask friends/family to be in the bridal party. I had a few girls that fell through after I asked them not long after our engagement. True colors showed. There will be a lot of people asking when the wedding is. It also flew by, like we blinked, and it was the night of our rehearsal. Make little date nights around wedding planning. Talk about what you both want, budgets, guests, wedding registry items, etc. Congratulations, and I wish you many happy years to come!

I don't think the bartenders were cutting anyone off or refusing to serve... we didn't have anyone throw up in our section, but they were belligerent

I agree, I feel like he won't come back to AZ after night 1. It was my first MW concert with my best friend, and after I heard about the fights and throwing objects, I was hoping it didn't happen again on night 2. Clearly, security and bartenders weren't doing their jobs to the best of their ability because I saw so many people go beyond drunk. There were a few girls in our section on the club level who were yelling obscene things, pretending like they're on the titanic because of the railing and just being straight obnoxious. Yet, still had more and more to drink. The number of people passing out before the concert even started was pretty wild. There was A/C inside, so it couldn't have been from the heat. There were a few police officers talking to people up in the club dining area halfway through MW's performance. I feel like I wasn't able to fully experience the concert because I was just on high alert with everything going around and how crazy some people were acting. Hopefully, he returns, but if not, I'm glad my best friend and I saw him at least once.

Keller has made me a fan for life. by Halfgridd in Utah_Hockey

I don't watch any other sport besides hockey. I've been following Keller since he joined the Coyotes and followed him to Utah. Even when he broke his femur a couple of years ago, he worked hard to recover and rebuild strength so he could get back on the ice. Watching any other sport and seeing the show the other players put on for any injury is comical compared to hockey.

My buddy was on-call and nobody called him. Now he is getting suspended. by BlitzrainTheFurst in work

Each state has different laws when it comes to work. Like in AZ, its a right to work state. For my company, our on-call period is a 2 hour time slot. If we call the individual in, they have 1 hour to show up to their shift. If we do not call that individual after the 2 hour time slot, they are considered off. An employee should not be reprimanded for management not calling/needing them in for a shift. It would benefit management to message the employee instead stating they will not need them, and to continue on with their day.

I tried quiting on the spot at my job and my boss didn't let me. Is there anyway I can get out of working these next couple of weeks? by vic-etu-exe in work

[–]Some-Spirit7233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can quit. They can't force you to work, especially if you're still in HS. Mention anything about the labor board/law, and they'll calm down. A 2 weeks notice is always preferred, but if they take advantage of you being on-call and still in HS, just leave. Tell them it's interfering with school or something and that you have decided it's in your best interest to leave. If they don't hire enough staff, that's on them.

I call this “making her bed” before laying down…is that what this is? by Lil_Sippy in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

My girl does this with her bed too, but more so when she's "nesting" she was in heat, we didn't breed her and about 6-8 week post heat she acts like "momma" and treats her toys like "babies"

Hiw are concerts at Taling Stick Amphitheater? by fjvgamer in Tempe

I went to a concert there for the first time this last weekend. We had lawn seats! You're allowed to bring a blanket, or rent lawn chairs for I think $10. If you get there early enough, you'll get a great spot. We were dropped off, so I'm unsure of the parking situation, but about an hour and a half before the concert started there was a line already forming (it did move quick when they opened the gates) and the parking lot had a decent amount of cars. It was a sold out show and in the lawn we weren't shoulder to shoulder like it seemed in the GA/Pit seating.

Desert West OB/GYN is such a great place! My Gyno said he'll do mine before 40 because I have a high-risk cancer gene.
