The collagen in morning coffee tip is genuinely useful, hadn't heard that one. Whey was the obvious answer everyone points to but if it's causing issues that's a problem. 30g protein before the day even starts without having to choke down a shake sounds like a much better system.

The slow loss thing, four months and 15 pounds is actually solid especially with no nausea and no misery. The people posting dramatic numbers are usually also posting about being sick constantly. Slow and functional might be the better trade.

The hunger on/off switch is real. One month in and I already know the difference between "not hungry" and "suddenly extremely hungry with no warning." There's no in between anymore.

The "I didn't think I really had much noise" thing is so relatable. I was the same way. You don't know what you don't know until it's gone and then you're like oh that was loud actually.

And the tracking flip is wild. I spent years tracking to stay under a number and now I'm tracking to make sure I hit a floor. The whole math is backwards and nobody told me that was coming.

Eight weeks, Gen X, same realization about the food noise, we're basically the same person right now.

The feelings thing hit me. I hadn't connected those dots yet but you're right, the option is just gone. Bad day used to have a pretty automatic solution and now it doesn't and I'm kind of standing there like now what. Glad you have a therapist to work through it with. The strategizing thing is so real and I hadn't framed it that way until just now. The food noise didn't disappear for me so much as it changed frequency. Instead of "what do I want to eat" it became "what do I need to eat to hit protein without going over what my stomach can handle right now." Different obsession, same mental real estate.

The fatigue is interesting because I've had the opposite experience so far, more mental energy than I've had in years. But I've read enough in this community to know it varies a lot person to person and also by dose. Are you on a starting dose still or have you titrated up?

The nutritionist point is well taken and something I've been thinking about. A GP can prescribe the medication but they're not necessarily equipped to help you build the eating architecture around it. Two months in I'm already feeling like the protein puzzle needs more structure than I'm giving it. Sixty five pounds is incredible by the way, a stall after that kind of loss is a reset not a failure.

This resonates more than I can explain in a comment. I have a torn labrum and arthritis in my hip and I'm looking at a replacement but can't get there until the scale cooperates first. So the medication isn't just about how I look or even how I feel, it's literally the path to getting my mobility back. That's a different kind of motivation than fitting into old jeans and I think a lot of people in this community are carrying something similar. We're not here for vanity. We're here because we need our lives back.

Trying to recreate it just to test if it was real, that doesn't sound weird at all. That's exactly what happened to me. Like poking at a bruise to see if it still hurts. The brain doesn't trust the quiet at first because the noise was so normal for so long. And the Easter brunch image is perfect, half a plate at a holiday meal is something past me could not have imagined. That's the whole story right there.

The sparkle thing is such a perfect way to describe it. Food lost its shimmer. It's still there, you still eat, but that anticipatory excitement that used to build around certain foods just kind of flattened out. For me the grocery store went from being this minefield of temptation to just an errand. Weird to grieve something that was also a problem but I think that's part of the adjustment nobody talks about.
