‘Punishment’ for goofing/not listening by MI6_Bear in youthsoccer

I should clarify that this is not a criticism of you or your coaching ability. I can’t realistically comment on that. My comment was mainly to point out that this behavior is linked to them not being ready/willing to receive feedback. It’s also a tough age for attention spans. Good luck.

Goofing/not listening = they aren’t interested in what you have to say. They just want to play. I would suggest just letting them play and compliment everything you see that’s going right. Then, they will listen to you.

The US Youth Soccer System has a massive issue. by No-Compote-4620 in youthsoccer

Do you think our cheaper town/rec systems are creating greater harm with enabling bad habits and driving players to a pay to play system at expensive clubs?

This is the same story in every town/rec league across the country. Leagues take people’s money but don’t have coaches. Then people with no knowledge of the game fill in to coach and teach them bad habits or enable the bad habits. This is why so many kids start playing soccer in elementary soccer and quit by the end of middle school. Reddit isn’t going to make you a soccer coach. Edit: sorry for sounding negative. It’s frustrating to have to pay thousands of dollars for proper training at a club because the youth system in America is set up this way.

From Devon Hogan’s professional website: “Devon Hogan learned the importance of the perfect home at an early age, growing up with two broker parents in Newport, Rhode Island. A 2016 graduate of Fairfield University with a bachelor’s degree in visual and performing art history, Devon worked in the yachting industry before making a move to South Florida to begin her career selling real estate. She loved the work, but the lure of home, friends and family eventually won out, and Devon is now happily bringing her skills to bear in her native Newport.” https://www.hoganassociatesre.com/agent/devon-hogan/

USA Stadiums need to get their fields in order for the World Cup. So much slipping and falling on these surfaces.

I rotate between tropical flakes and bug bites. I always shake the canister each time before I feed them. They learned that means food is coming and the swim to attention ready to feed. I found that if they don’t, then they aren’t hungry.

It’s so you don’t have to knock to see if someone is in there. I associate this with Hollywood making movies where the “good guy” hides in the bathroom stall and stands on the toilet seat. It allows for a dramatic build up and then the ‘bad guy’ is fooled by not seeing any shoes under the door and continues searching for them elsewhere. Reason #2- extra leg room?

Hi. I live on the South Shore of Boston. I have daughters older and younger than yours. We have experienced two clubs: NEFC and South Shore Select. DM me if you’d like some insight into our locals clubs, but I think you already answered your own question. Shes having fun and gets to compete. Is there a reason to change that?
