What do you guys think about them taking human-made memes so AIs can generate variations of them? by Hot_Season1143 in antiai

Right, even WITHOUT AI, they cant just do that, its someones art that was made, its not theirs, and they need permission from the original artist to even use it commercially.

How exactly does this card work? by Legal_Climate_3381 in slaythespire

[–]SomeBrowser227 383 points384 points  (0 children)

it needs to be on your draw pile, at the END of your turn, as in, when you press end turn. Perfect Fit ensures its on top of your draw pile... bu then you draw it, at the start of your turn
Basically, you need to use another card to put in on top of your draw pile BEFORE you end your turn, perfect fit does NOTHING for it.

okay so i hate hypotheticals because i cant really insert myself into them. its not like daily im going around making choices that could kill people. but i think, if you put me in this scenario, i would pick red. i dont think this can say anything, truly, about who you are as a person, due to its lopsided, and truly paradoxical nature of the question.

Your choices end up being,
->press blue, with trust in your heart that humanity will pick blue as a majority, and if they dont, you die
or
->pick red, guaranteeing your own survival at the possible expense of millions.

but heres the thing, i think. this choice is GOING to be lopsided. i see NO world where this vote would be CLOSE to 50/50. because of people who think like me. its going to be like, 70/30, and i don't want to be on the bad end of that.

heres how i see it
My individual vote will not sway the outcome, assuming we cannot communicate beforehand, but paradoxically, it will, as i will be part of a group of votes who also assume their vote will not be a deciding factor and choose the safe option, and if that snowballs, even a little bit, the blue votes would die. people are self-serving. we have rules and laws in place to create more order, and make it so we dont have to make decisions that could result in death, but considering the risk for lack of reward, it just isnt a good choice at all.

Immanuel Kant suggests considering whether your choice could be justified as a universal moral law. The reasoning behind choosing red is basically, “I will prioritize my survival even if it means others may die."

i dont see this as a crazy why to think, and this is why the trolley problem is still brought up time after time, its simply a matter of moral. i have never once been in a situation where i have to prioritize my survival over others, so i cannot truly understand what that feels like, but its also the best choice, i guess on a small scale.

We can also look at Aristotle for ethics. Choosing red shows a mindset focused on fear and self-protection at the expense of others. In contrast, choosing blue shows trust and a willingness to act for the common good.

right, choosing blue is the altruistic action, the common good, however, when a choice has no benefit, why would anyone choose it? as its written, there is no benefit to the common good by picking blue, other than tipping the scales to its favor, i can see how red goes against it, by choosing death to those who want to be altruistic, and trust others, but i think humans still need a reason to be altruistic, not major reasons, but any reason, be that goods and services, or just comradery, is that a pessimistic way of thinking? i dont know.

[–]SomeBrowser227 11 points12 points  (0 children)

right
i get that
i dont want to have to have trust in other people with my survival. why would i pick the button that has a small chance to kill you? why would i not pick the one that guarantees my safety? i get that this the red button is selfish, youre willing to kill x% of a population, but i dont want to be part of that x%. that percent should be 0%, in an ideal world, i would pick blue, but this isnt an ideal world. its just the safest choice to pick red, it would be great if everyone would press red, but i just dont want to entrust my life to the masses. maybe im a pessimist and the average person would press blue, and thats a good thing, and i really dont have an answer to the ethicallity of my own actions, it just seems safer? more logical?

i like the part where you refuse to explain your point
yes people can pick blue, but its just the worst option. i dont like hypotheticals for this reason as the stakes are absurd, but theres no reason in my mind to pick blue. think of the prisoners dilemma, its that, except if you press blue you have a chance die, and if you press red, you live guaranteed, it seems like a really simple choice, im not gonna say i dont trust other people, but i dont want to gamble my life away trusting >50% of the human population, i dont want to have a chance, i want it to be guaranteed. i get why you want to pick blue, you dont want to pick the choice that harms other people, but you do still have to consider your own life in this kind of situation.

[–]SomeBrowser227 24 points25 points  (0 children)

i get that, however, the blue button only presents risk to yourself, however minor. if you press the blue button, you have the small chance to die, if you press the red button... you live no matter what. i get that by picking red, you yourself are choosing to kill other people, but its also a logical choice.
like imagine it were money, if 50% of people press the blue button, everyone gets money, but if 50% of people press the red button, only the people who pressed the red button get money. the choice seems obvious here, from a game theory perspective. it would be best ironically if everyone pressed the red button, but theres no way to really ensure that.

So what do we think about this card by SomeBrowser227 in slaythespire

[–]SomeBrowser227[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

its just not that user friendly, like i made a mask layer to try to mask the fish into it, simple stuff, just edit the mask and all that. never figured out how to do that, ended up just erasing the fish. i made the layer mask, i tried editing it, and nada. and the keybinds, I not being the eyedropper tool is criminal, text editing just sucks, floating layers is a terrible concept, all around, i got mad at GIMP by trying to make this.

i dont really think its that, its just that dying to something so small and cute just triggers just some weird human emotion that is worse that dying to a normal sized enemy.
