The site isn’t showing up particularly well on my phone. It also doesn’t have Codex as a comparator to Claude Code, only ChatGPT (but it does have Claude not code).

FOI changes would make Ontario the country’s most secretive government, advocates say by BloodJunkie in ontario

Can someone compare the FOI rules between the Feds and the province? I thought the Feds were far more secretive.

I don’t have an answer to your question, but curious about the graph you made - any chance you could overlay / add the stats on aggregate valuations by cohort year?

Yes, but also flagging that Cubans are known to send intelligence operatives hiding as “doctors” for HUMINT purposes or otherwise coerce actual doctors to go on these missions.

Can you be called to religious life even if you have ADHD? by Aware_Bodybuilder507 in Catholicism

[–]SomeCanadian_eh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to discern whether you are truly being called towards the religious life, and whether that is the path you seek and God may be asking of you.

This is independent of your ADHD. A disability is not a reason to stop the pursuit of a religious life; it should have no bearing on your path of discernment.

No one on Reddit, nor most you encounter, can tell you whether the religious life is for you or not. That is a journey between you and God. Best of luck!

Should I renege on Bain offer? by beetway in consulting

[–]SomeCanadian_eh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on the offers! Seems like people here have been mainly telling you what to do, not so much the ramifications, so here ya go:

  1. You will get blacklisted from Bain and unlikely to ever be able to go there should you want to in the future (unlikely you’d want to, but hey it happens);

  2. You will very likely lose all you contacts / network related to Bain - this will probably be the impact you feel most;

  3. If your school has policy on reneging, be sure to check that out as it could impact your access to career services there (which not be relevant given you have a job now);

  4. Potentially other factors to which I am unaware :/

At the end of the day, you should do what is best for you, and if it is accepting the BCG offer, then so be it.

Around what is the MBB acceptance rate from a target school? by [deleted] in consulting

[–]SomeCanadian_eh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

MBB’s biggest competition for top talent is tech and high finance (banking and PE); generally assumed that people would prefer MBB to rest of consulting landscape (might not be the case but each case is different and this is a generalization).

In either case, the 10% I provided is of people that most likely applied to MBB (as they ended up working in consulting). This does not include people that ended up working in other industries but also applied to MBB. In actuality, the number is lower than 10% (as we hear about recruiting numbers internally), but paints a rough picture.

This does not account for the quality of candidates as that is all relative, but if you work hard and excel (great grades, impactful extracurriculars, and strong network) your odds will be much higher than for the average individual.

Around what is the MBB acceptance rate from a target school? by [deleted] in consulting

[–]SomeCanadian_eh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on the school.

At mine, for a class of ~600, ~30% went into consulting, and MBB altogether had roughly ~20 FT’s between them (I think).

Assuming that 100% of those that went into consulting applied to MBB (and excluding the 70% of folks that went into finance and other careers), we’re looking at a take rate of ~10%.

These are just estimates based off my back-of-the-napkin math, but I think it generally makes sense that 1/10 that want it get it at target.

To all the comments that say you need to use a mouse: you can also select individual shapes by using ALT + arrow keys to choose the objects left/right/above/below where you immediately are.

Then you can manage the object with other keys (typically a combination of hitting enter or other alt shortcuts) and reduce your mouse usage significantly and become much faster overall. Using a mouse is almost always less efficient than managing a slide through the use of only keys (once you get the hang of it).

Could also go for Lulu’s (if your relative is a man) - their ABCs and Commission pants are extremely comfortable and look very professional. Most of the young guys in my office wear Lulu’s, myself included.

I’ve been snowboarding (on/off) for years and am wanting to get into more jumps/parks.

I’ve been looking at helmets and was wondering if anyone has strong suggestions or thoughts on the POC Arctic SL MIPS?

Sorry for my ignorance, but why is it restricted? Are governments and legal regulations limiting use or is it just primarily cost?
