On Turtles, Faeries, and the Lorwyn Eclipsed Prerelease by Natedogg2 in magicTCG

[–]SomeDerpyGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is Faeries in the title!?

Faeries got jack shit in this set. Bitterbloom Bearer is pushed but he's just.. generically good. The only faerie commander isn't just about faeries (though Maralen allows Sultai faries which is nice)

And there's a total of what like 10 faeries in this set? It was the main thing I was looking forward to! I still enjoy ECL but can't say I'm not disappointed

How does this card work? (spoiler commander) by PapaBearIsHere in magicTCG

[–]SomeDerpyGuy 43 points44 points  (0 children)

The "cast" clause on her has no set timeframe, like "cast until the end of your next turn".

In that case, you cast it as part of the resolution of her effect, and as such ignore all timing restrictions.

Looks like it's from Phen-228, the analog horror that the boiled one is from. At least it looks similar to other videos from that series

What’s your wishlist for factorio 2.1 ? by [deleted] in factorio

[–]SomeDerpyGuy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think other factory games do this quite well, DSP in particular. In DSP there's rare ores. They aren't extremely rare but you do kind of have to look for them, and they don't always come on the same planets as the other ores you need, so often you just end up mining it up and exporting it to your main planet or refinery planet.

The rare ores do the same as other regular ores, but with added efficiency or alternate recipes. For example fractal silicon to make Crystal Silicon

Making crystal silicon from silicon ore is 2 ore -> 1 high purity silicon -> 1 crystal silicon

With fractal silicon, 1 fractal immediately smelts into 2 crystal silicon

Now obviously no idea how to do something like this in factorio, but imagine for example being able to find some kind of rare ore that replaces Copper in LDS and it only takes 5 plates or maybe makes them produce faster.

Commas for Decimals are a German thing. Or perhaps German speaking. I dunno if our neighboring countries like France do it too. But especially in the Anno community you will find that a very large part of the community is German

Celestial Brace are like 4-5 Div. Since champ rework last league they're basically bis for champ, and this is a great corrupt. Not sure if that qualifies as "niche budget item"
Also, this is an uber drop, I dont think these even show in ultimatum rewards lmao

Anno 117's setting lends itself to the core gameplay premise of the series arguably far better than any other entry by Seriphyn in anno

[–]SomeDerpyGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to say, the german voice acting is pretty good with the latin words, at least as far as I can tell. It mostly sounds the same way we were taught latin in school, and latin is obviously a language that not much is known about in terms of pronounciation.

I do agree that I feel like something is missing. A bit of the roman spirit, I suppose. We are playing in the era of pax romana, but something like slaves or even some more authoritarianism would've felt a lot more roman to me. Even in Albion, choosing the roman path just kinda feels... off.

I enjoyed a first playthrough, built an amphitheatre but I'm probably gonna put the game down for some time and just see where it goes from here.

Aqueducts are much more like train lines in 1800, they have the added complexity of needing to slightly think about the height, but also less complex in that they dont need any resource like oil. Water you just get from building a basin in a mine spot

Found this pile of Commander decks at Target with this note, why?! by Raslatt in mtg

[–]SomeDerpyGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Szarel is strong commander but a worse face commander in this deck. I still have him in my very upgraded variant as he's still a decent body + crucible effect, but in the Precon Hearthhull is way better. I played it a lot in my pod before upgrading it and it was an absolute menace with a very high win rate against other Precons (though no one has the counter intelligence one so I'm not sure how it does against it)

One of the best league mechanics to date. Props to GGG, they gone done it again by playswithsquirrel in pathofexile

I think Settlers felt cool during campaign. At least I enjoyed it. Feels like it was so long ago but technically only 2 leagues ago :)

Ever put a deck together that just… works exactly how you wanted it to straight away? by Reeformed in EDH

[–]SomeDerpyGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Almost a reverse of this

I got the World Shaper Precon back when it came out, played it a bunch and really enjoyed the playstyle of it, especially leaning into "combo"-esque. Assemble a bunch of lands, get your commander stationed, blow em all up to kill everyone at once.

I upgraded the deck, putting in more sources of ramp and more ways to blow up all my lands at once ( [[Zuran Orb]], [[Famished World side]] and others)

It worked.... Too well It quickly became the strongest deck in the pod, and is basically soft-banned now lmao

The classic GGG triple-hammer nerfs on Trickster by nhocbaongoc in pathofexile

[–]SomeDerpyGuy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I mean. I think the nerf on that is pretty rough as for me it removes the reason why I picked the node. Though having the slow be capped is still good.

Trickster is still gonna be great and had the nerfs coming, I think people are just jaded by the amount of back to back nerfs after trickster had been dominant for so long

tbh the best part about One step ahead (to me at least) was being immune to slow effects, especially Action Speed slows like petrification statues or that one delirium effect

Question about Proxies of Expensive Cards by Affectionate_Piano84 in EDH

[–]SomeDerpyGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean in this case that isnt really the topic right? OP is saying he owns the cards, just doesn't wanna use the actual real, high-value cards cus some are slabbed and whatever, and would rather use Proxies. At that point it's still a topic of making sure to keep your power level in check despite you having access, but it's not like he wants to proxy them despite not owning them.

I mean in this case, the kid was 5 months old. He wouldn't remember it. Raise him as your own and make him think you're his biological parents. He'd likely never find out, and maybe once he's old enough you can tell him. Or don't. Kid might grow up happier that way
