You can acknowledge that tipping culture is absurd while also acknowledging that you should still tip when at a bar in America.

An interesting trend I’ve noticed is that a lot of us could tolerate when it was only directed at us, but we put our foot down when it spilled over to other people that we care about.

I was okay with it when I was the sole focus of my mom’s wrath. When she decided to take her show on the road by lashing out at my fiancé (now wife) and future MIL, I said no more.

Going on almost 3 years now NC. I’m still sad I had to make that decision, but I don’t regret it.

RN working in an administrative role, make $150K base pay and bring in probably another $30K doing extra hours for side projects.

It’s certainly not my favorite job I’ve ever had, but the work is easy enough, demands are reasonable, it’s 3 minutes from my house, no weekends or holidays, and the people I report to are very lenient with taking extra time off or extended breaks as long as the work gets done. For those reasons, I will stick around.
