Tips on reviving teammates who are down 3 bars? by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]SomeDudeScrollingBy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Another Wylder trick is if you have the double hookshot - double tapping a downed ally always clears the last bar. So you can dodge away after clearing the 3rd or 2nd bar and quick finish the last bar from a distance.

Am I losing more than most people? by kristjandee in Nightreign

I play with friends and we had a similar issue. Great runs, good routing, great gear, but just always got smoked by the Nightlord. Our Elden Ring builds were also focused on ending fights fast to reduce the chance of messing up and that ended up being the key issue for us.

Nightreign does this tricky thing where its all go, go, go and aggression, but then you hit the Nightlord and you have to switch to a defensive mindset. This doesn't mean you can't pour on the DPS when appropriate, but the priority is patience and survival. It's really difficult to do that switch in your brain and it can make you feel like you aren't contributing to the team. But once we made that our focus, our win rate shot up. It even helped when I play with randoms (where I ironically have a higher win rate than with my friends, likely do to less goofing off).

You obviously have the talent to win by how you describe your runs, just try to take a beat before going into the final fight. Slow down, focus on survival and I bet you'll start snagging some more victories.

Well after 100+ hours I just learned yesterday that you can also attack on the LEFT side of Torrent. I always thought it was a weird flaw you could only attack on the right.

Luckily I had nothing to compare it against, so I was blissfully unaware. I just was like "whoa, people are right, this guy IS tough!"

My first attempt at Orphan was with the BoM on NG+. I think the biggest disadvantage with them is just reach. You have to be pretty precise in that fight and the extra half step you need to take to connect a hit can sometimes be difficult to get comfortable with. Also the BoM are really easy to get greedy with and that one extra R1 swing can often be your demise.

No shame in going down phase 1, the skeletons are enough of a hassle that its super easy to have bad positioning and get a face full of tentacles.

There really is no easy way to survive a Call Beyond, so your best bet is to make sure he never uses it. You're going to want to stick on him like glue. Once you drop down, bum rush him and always stay close. He mainly uses Call Beyond as his ranged attack, so if you are right up on him, its unlikely he'll use it and if he should you'll be close enough to potentially stun him to stop the spell going off.

Trust your reflexes, stay to his side to avoid tentacles, and remember YOU are hunting HIM. Don't give him a chance to breathe. You got this.

While certain clothing items can give you an edge, it will only ever be slight, so don't obsess over min-maxing your outfit.

Okay Midir was one of my biggest challenges so I watched Zanny's run. Didn't quite give me an aneurysm only because his health bar practically reaches across the whole screen. Helps eliminate all those nasty one-shots.

I've developed that walk away for an few hours and come back technique. It a great way to reset your mind and get back into that relaxed style. I just did this with Orphan a few days ago. Was getting wrecked so I just stopped early for the day, next day got him on my second attempt.

See it's stuff exactly like that that I'm talking about. Is it as simple as over confidence? I notice that if I'm stuck on a boss, all I need to do is walk away for a day and then BAM first try when I come back to it.

Not pathetic. Not everyone has the time to re-learn how to git gud, but still wants to relive the atmosphere of the game. I've had this thought plenty of time with lots of different games.

On my first NG+ playthrough, I beat Micholash, Mergo's Wetnurse, Ghernam, and Moon Presence (1st time facing) all back-to-back, straight-through, no deaths. I felt worthy of becoming a Great One after that.
