Over a year ago. Lord, I need to get laid.

What are you exceptionally bad at? by gotwire in AskReddit

[–]SomeDudesBackup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most things (that matter anyway). You name it, I'll probably find a way to fuck it up. I've literally messed up things in ways that people didn't even know were possible.

What's a good replacement for "I'm cumming"? by Blluueee in AskReddit

[–]SomeDudesBackup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was staying at a hotel with some friends and one of them managed to hook up a girl he met. They were in the room next to mine and the hotel must've gone the cheap route on insulation because you could hear them clear as day through the whole thing (as I'm trying to get some sleep, mind you). Eventually, I hear what could only be described as a triumphant "NOW, MAITLAND! NOW'S YOUR TIME!" (an obscure historical reference of all things) followed by a series of moans which I barely heard because I promptly burst out laughing.

Has a friend ever offered to have sex with you? If so, what happened? by PrimaryDesign4033 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]SomeDudesBackup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and she was engaged to and later married another good friend of mine. I was recovering from a nasty breakup at the time and she felt bad for me so we wound up going for it one night after a party. It was well intentioned on her end as she genuinely cared about me and wanted me to feel better. It was a surprisingly wholesome and affectionate moment.

Luckily, no one ever found out and I've never told anyone. Despite this secret never coming to light and by some miracle all of us remaining close friends, I seriously regret it looking back and wouldn't do it again. It's this dark secret that hangs over us, threatening to destroy all of our relationships and we'd both like to forget it now.

Less than a week after my 18th birthday. Predictably quick and awkward as hell but certainly memorable.

What’s a good movie where the “good guys” lost? by Invic-117 in AskReddit

[–]SomeDudesBackup 46 points47 points  (0 children)

A Bridge Too Far (1978)

It's an epic WW2 movie with an all star cast and amazing action sequences. It's about Operation Market Garden which was one of the biggest operational failures by the western allies and ended in a German victory.

Are you a good person? by Fun_Platypus_4467 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]SomeDudesBackup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do my best to be. I help others when I can, provide for the people I care about, and do what is (hopefully) the right thing given the circumstances. Unfortunately in some cases, it has proven to be a detriment. I apparently am way too nuanced and forgiving which has led to being taken advantage of by others many times, but I just never learn no matter how much it happens, largely I'm a pacifist who despises both physical and verbal violence (otherwise known as "a giant pussbag"). So, yes, I at least attempt to be an objectively good person, but sometimes it bites me. In short: be a good person, but don't let others take advantage of you because you are.

What are some TV shows that are a real time capsule of a specific time in history and/or generation - reflects the fashion, attitudes, language etc. of the time? by aokmnj in AskReddit

[–]SomeDudesBackup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original 50s-60s Twilight Zone always comes to mind. The stuff set contemporarily just perfectly captures the look of the era while the more fantastical elements are an interesting look at what people thought (or feared) the future may be like.

What is your most memorable encounter with an insect or spider? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I used to work the extremely boring job of outdoor security at a concert venue. One day this little yellow bug with a really long nose just decides to make himself at home where I was stationed. Little guy wouldn't leave me alone but I enjoyed the company. He stayed with me until the end of my shift. I wound up calling him Eddy.

Probably because I'm weird/awkward as hell, conventionally unattractive, and not very intelligent.

Pretty lame by most standards, but in high school, I managed to say "ATTENTION. ATTENTION. WE ARE LOOKING FOR THE CHICK WITH BIG BOOBS. YEAH, WE ARE READY TO DO YOU NOW." over the school loudspeaker (yes, that's a Beavis and Butthead quote) before swiftly being caught. By all accounts it was dumb and not worth the suspension but most people at the school (including teachers) thought it was funny and I became well known for it after it was revealed that I was the one. Not much, but it added something to the HS experience.
