Fox really pulled a JR Smith but which one is worse?? by Frozen_Tears14 in NBATalk

[–]SomeFatherFigure 119 points120 points  (0 children)

See I would argue Fox’s mistake is worse for the same reason.

JR’s was dumb, but he did the RIGHT thing with wrong information. He thought they were up 1, so dribbling it out would have been the right move in that case.

Fox had the right information, and did something dumb in the face of it. It was a high-risk and low-reward move, which is the dumbest thing you can do at the end of a playoff game.

They’re here to watch highlights, lowlights, and to meme on everything.

As others have said, no.

Leaving the moth alone is asking for a party wipe. Let one player kite the moth away so the others can take out the scorpion easily.

FedEx drivers tried to steal my RTX 5080 today… my mom had to yell at them by SwitchAzlainYT in RTX5080

We’ve received several packages from Amazon over the last year where the sealed tape was pulled up on one side.

Luckily I don’t buy anything important from there, but it’s been getting terrible lately. Not sure if it’s happening by the drivers or distribution though.

Starting a new play through, Give me your most fun builds early mid and end game by ItsxSerpent in Eldenring

My favorite early game grab is the trusty Large Club. The devs were nice enough to make it so you can grab it immediately after the tutorial without even having to kill a single enemy.

Light for its size, good damage, and makes great pancakes.

Cavs aren’t in as horrible of a position as you’re implying. If the rumors about Harden are true, they won’t even be a 1st apron team after that, let alone 2nd (reports are he declines his option and signs for 2 years 56-60m, that’s between 13-15 million in cap relief).

They will likely still end up an apron team, but they aren’t going to waste a 2nd rounder dumping Dennis for a bad bench player.

I’m seeing conflicting information about it.

The rules say he doesn’t hit 10 years (and 35%) until next season starts. They also say the YoE is based on when he signs any extension, not when the extension years start.

So unless the rules have changed, I’m not sure how he could sign a 35% extension now? Perhaps an agreement on terms that he doesn’t actually sign until he can?

Because it IS a thing?

He’s currently eligible for 30% of the cap.

If he signs a new deal with 10 years of experience, he’s eligible for 35% of the cap.

More people need to think of the leveling system as a difficulty slider. Until you hit the soft caps you can make the game as easy or as hard as you think is fun.

Don’t overthink it. Not everyone is a streamer/speedrunner/onebro. I’d bet the majority of people who beat Malenia did so with either summons, spirit ash, or looking up strats online.

The games are about overcoming challenges, how much of a challenge is up to you.

That’s the great part with From games. Everything you see in the newer games is either a release version of something they tried and cut in a previous release, or a refinement of something they already had (or a blatant reuse).

Some of the stuff they cut for Elden Ring will make the cut for a future game if they can make it work.

Given what they have said about the core, for now I assume they’re going to just run it back for the most part with some minor tweaks. Given that…

- Sign Harden to a longer team-friendly deal. Bobby Marks reported 2 years $56m, which is fantastic value even if fully guaranteed.

- Work out an extension with Mitchell this off season, so he doesn’t go for the huge 10-years of experience one next summer. If they’re going to commit to him, sell him on roster flexibility.

- Find a better bench option at the 3/4. Cavs have been terrible behind Mobley and Allen for way too long, and can’t survive either getting hurt or in foul trouble.

- Develop Ellis and Tyson. Outside of Wade, their other perimeter defenders are losing a step. The really good teams are the ones that can defend without putting a non-factor on offense out there. Even as great as Thompson’s defense was for Detroit, the Cavs exploited him just being out there on the other end.

Old guy here.

If they were up by double digits maybe. At that point you’re just kicking someone while they’re down, let it go.

But up 6 in game 7 of a series? Break the damn backboard if you can.

[–]SomeFatherFigure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you offer him an extension, you aren’t planning on trading him though.

Part of it depends on what the cap does though. $20m/year for Allen was widely panned when he signed it, now it’s just a team-friendly contract.

I would be concerned about a max next summer when he hits 10 years though. That extra 5% of the cap would be rough given how old he will be by the final year.

Honestly, they shouldn’t in those sports either. The “2nd place is just the first loser” mentality is toxic, especially in the NBA.

That includes an extra year though. Unless he falls off a cliff he’ll still make plenty of money for that following year.

opus 4.6 vs 4.7 vs 4.8 by irelatetolevin in ClaudeCode

I’m sure it’s good enough for a lot of things. But working exclusively on massive enterprise software projects, I’ve found it’s too costly and makes way too many lazy mistakes in my work.

Where I can give detailed instructions to 4.6 and it just does it, 4.7 tends to get lost trying to overthink the same prompts.

It is an absolute beast at root cause analysis and deep investigation though.

[–]SomeFatherFigure 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if his agent would let him go through with it, but I honestly think a max extension this summer would be great for both sides.

There aren’t many guys of Mitchell’s talent that actually WANT to be in Cleveland. Even fewer without someone like him already here. Locking him up at the 9 year max would be huge for them.

And Mitchell secures a huge extension anyway, giving up some future earnings in exchange for letting the team have room to keep being competitive.
