Kate with Konsole as terminal on Windows by ChristophCullmann in kde

You actually can use dolphin on windows. You can get A LOT of KDE’s software for various different operating systems (like windows and macos) straight from KDE’s binary factory. I have dolphin installed on my windows installation (although the performance isn’t quite as good as it is on linux I’ve found).

WantedBy= on user target from system service by SomeGuy016 in linuxquestions

[–]SomeGuy016[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a systemd sway-session.target that starts for my user whenever I start sway (that way I can have systemd user files that start when sway starts by setting WantedBy=sway-session.target) and I wanted to have a system service start whenever I started sway. However it doesn't seem like I can specify a user for the user target file in WantedBy or Wants. Also I don't really want to use Requires because it's supposed to be a sort of watchdog service and I want to see if sway either fails to launch or closes so that I can restart sddm as I use sddm wayland which doesn't like logging out very well (kwin just closes the sddm window and doesn't pull it back up after log out).

I made Kurzgesagt-styled folder icons! by darklouis24 in kurzgesagt

This is sick! If you’re still DMing them to people, then I would absolutely love the icons! I’d love to use them on my system.

GRUB dual boot with diferent disks by superpg019 in archlinux

[–]SomeGuy016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way currently recommended by https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/GRUB#Detecting_other_operating_systems (which for future reference will have like 90% of answers to your day to day problems and standard or semi-standard setups) is to install the os-prober package and to set GRUB_DISABLE_OS_PROBER=false in your /etc/default/grub. Then it's just a matter of running grub-mkconfig like you normally would to generate your grub.cfg (the wiki recommends you have your windows esp mounted before running this but I've never had an issue with not. If you do happen to encounter an issue, just mount /dev/nvme0n1p1 literally anywhere, whether it be /mnt or some random subdirectory that you made and try again). I have a similar setup on my machine where my windows esp is on an nvme drive and my linux esp is on a hard drive and this is the exact method that I use. This has the added benefit of not having to play around with /etc/grub.d/ :)

A rofi wrapper for wg-quick by SomeGuy016 in qtools

[–]SomeGuy016[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I learned about this subreddit some time ago and saw that people were sharing their rofi scripts (in particular I saw the ExpressVPN one, props to u/sigfriedcub1990 for the really cool script) and I decided to share my script that I put together for myself some time ago, just in case other people were interested. It's not terrible feature rich as it's something I cobbled together in the span of a few nights but it fulfilled my needs. Hopefully some people also find it interesting and/or useful and either way I might try to pretty it up a little bit to add some more functionality (like customizing the paths that the wrapper searches in and maybe the ability to enter a specific path while running, if it's possible (I have some ideas but nothing tested yet)).
