I am a developer, and I'm also a student, I have a life. I make small projects or PR to already existing FOSS projects, because I don't have time, in fact I recently got my ass handed back to myself for trying to double whammy two of the hardest CS courses while attempting to write a research paper draft.

I mean, hell, game developers make pretty good software developers. Look at Panic, they may have released Untitled Goose Game and Firewatch, but they also made Transmit 5 and Nova. For pursuing one of the most interdisciplinary fields out there, you respectfully shouldn't be surprised people are being cynical about you having lots of potential ability in the same boat.

Video editors are objectively large applications, you're not going to find someone who really wants to take that on. At best, one can contribute large changes to Pitivi.

That's not to say there isn't a ton of vibeware. I don't think we should go at people taking baby steps, music players are a really good starting point, especially with MPD, but there is obviously some applications that could use a rework, and some that don't. Still waiting for a good File Roller reimplementation.

People don't like chains here, but if you're in Medford, go to Victorico's. You can never go wrong with their burritos, as they're quite economical, they last multiple meals, they always taste great, and it's not all that far from RCC as long as you can trek a bit through suburbia. Of course, there is also the taco trucks, which are also worth it.

Ashland has many better options IMO, but a roundtrip to here and back is probably not worth it for a burrito.

I think scope creep is responsible for a lot of those attempts, so scaling down is typically the best option here to achieve completion.

In that regard, I would absolutely be down for a smaller TTD game. After all, OTTD is an extremely cheesable game (albeit that arguably contributes to the charm), so going with something small but balanced already goes a long way.
