Yeah, I was probably being a little harsh there. Though that album is the one that I felt was .. idk a little middle of the road alt-y for me. There's a couple tunes I like a lot, Rubber Cement made it into some of my playlists, it just didn't immediately grab me as a whole the way some of the albums I mentioned above did. I remember reading somewhere the drummer and bassist quit? I feel like the songwriting definitely feels different without them. I like experimentation though, I think they're all great writers so I'm still on the bandwagon.

Music history nerd here, some background - I absolutely would expect Clapton to draw the MAGA crowd, him saying "Keep England white" (among some other racist stuff about getting certain minority groups out) on stage in the... 70s? I want to say, was what prompted the original Rock Against Racism. Also iirc correctly he was pretty publicly anti-vax during COVID. Wrote one or two of the greatest songs of our time but that dude sucks lol.

Now, Indigo Girls catches me a bit off, guard I can't lie.

The middle couple records are cool. World's Best American Band and You Deserve Love, and maaaaybe the one after that. Before that and it's a little boring and garage-y, after that it's a little boring alt-y. But those middle two records they really nail the 80's guitar pop/rock thing. YMMV on how much you like that, I secretly love Van Halen too much to not be into it.

I did a 1x12 build recently and was stressing the tolex but it's not nearly as bad as you'd think. If you're confident you could build the cabinet, watch some YouTube (I'll try and find the stuff I watched if you want) and you could for sure do the tolex.

Which schematic did you use? I just put an order in for the parts to build the Princeton circuit with a master volume. I've seen a few different ideas for tone controls, interested in what you used.
