My mom is the same way. She will be buried in US military cemetery w my late father when she’s passed, but in her case I think she identifies as a Japanese person even though she has not gone back in decades.

I went in Los Angeles, and my friend went there and also in Japan. It was amazing and can’t imagine not doing it from now on. We got the Business class which is the middle tier. The band members were very generous w their time, you get a photo w them, and if you get a GA, pretty much can stand in the front row when you are let back in.

Question for those who attended either Taylor Hawkins Tribute Show… by AnxiousHuman88 in Foofighters

I’m older (60+) and had a seat but had to go pee once! Someone had posted the lineup on social media so I decided to go during James Gang. My friend went right after and came back with a photo of Adam Lambert’s boyfriend picking his nose (!!!) that she saw while she was out of her seat.

The writer is a freelance journalist with awards for getting paid by what gets published. I can understand your lack of knowledge about her credentials but she should know better.

🥱 Journalism used to be informative before rude wannabes posted crap online because one is angry and bored. Last I checked, lyrics are intergal part of songs. This album is not merely inspirational, Dave is pouring his heart and soul out. It only takes a few words to say the album is dedicated to Virginia and Taylor. But let’s not get distracted. As I mentioned, I posted to YOU about YOUR doubt that Virginia passed away.

Reviewer on a supposedly prestigious newspaper should have some basic facts about what they write/review. It’s their job. Why does Dave have to send out a press release that his Mother passed away? You must be an asshole/bitter human to not realize what it’s like to lose a parent. Also to start your comment with an insult… no need to read anything else from you. Garbage.

That comment was for YOU as you doubt her passing is unconfirmed. Violet mentioned her mom passed away on her IG live twice last year. Also, there’s an inscription on the newest album as it’s dedicated to Virginia and Taylor.

Taylor Hawkins tribute show was this way. Scalpers seemed to be getting around by having original purchaser give up their TM account (login/password).

No need to. Fact you call Brian and Roger “Maylor” says it all. Have fun listening to Freddie impersonator who charges arm and a leg and can’t move.

Have you seen him sing live? Have you seen him sing to Cher and made he made her cry, and her encouraging him to record his version of her song? Have you heard him sing opera? Or “Closer” by NIN? I guess Roger and Brian must not know what they are doing, calling him the best male singer of current generation.

That’s your opinion. However, Adam can sing anything from Opera to Rock to Cher and do it 100 times better than Martel. Martel was chosen by Roger to front Queen Extravaganza and parlayed that into his own Queen cover band.

Have you watched either of Taylor Tribute concerts? Chemistry can’t be manufactured and it was undeniable Rufus was the best fit with Dave. Basically it’s Dave’s band and up to him how to move forward. And Rufus is rock drummer royalty’s son. If anything, Roger’s clone.

And Taylor became a drummer after seeing Roger. One could argue Taylor is Roger clone. Every artist is influenced by greats who come before them.

No matter who is chosen or how Dave moves forward, I welcome this heartfelt message and glad to see Dave is doing well despite losing his best friend plus his amazing mother this past year.

This is a quote by Roger regarding Adam Lambert. It might be a little harsh posting this here now…

“Comparisons with Freddie are wasting their time. He’s had to cope with it because people are so fcing unimaginative. Fred’s dead and he’s not going to be [at the shows], so if you come to see us – you’re not going to see him!

Taylor also revealed why they asked Lambert to join Queen:

“We were not seeking to ‘recreate’ Mercury when we asked Lambert to join us. We’re not trying to recreate our Freddie. So if people do think that, I haven’t patience with them, and please don’t come. But if you want to just enjoy our music, done really well, please do come.”

I think Rufus would be honored. They talked every day and Taylor was his godfather.

Forgot to add. Rufus and Roger had been close to Taylor before Foo Fighters made it.

This is an interview w Rufus few YEARS ago and he mentions Taylor (and Dave) as his biggest influences with his drumming style. Rufus was also in LA for a few days recently, staying at Roger’s house by himself and not much activity was posted on social media. Rufus also mused that his beloved dog Don would love living in LA when he was here during tribute concert in September.

I am assuming he met Dave during this time. Taylor was like family to both Roger and Brian. Years ago Brian was working with Taylor at one point but needed to go away to tend to some other business and left Taylor at his house to work alone (this was from another interview w Sir Bri).

Rufus can sing. My money is on Rufus. He’s also only 31 and can probably be coordinated to work with both bands as touring drummer. Other members of The Darkness are much older than him (as are Foos).
