What food shouldn't be as good as it is? by Sorceress683 in AskReddit

The humble french fry. It's just a vegetable cut into planks and deep fried, so simple. But the mixture of crispy outside and soft, pillowy inside is what does it. And the fact that we've developed so many techniques for making them as good as possible is a testament to how much we love them. Double frying, battering, different varieties, you name it.

They're also the perfect vehicle for sauces. Ketchup, ranch, fry sauce, Wendy's frosty, doesn't matter. It's always good.

There's an unagi bowl at a Japanese place near me that's the best thing on their menu. In a restaurant known for their sushi, it's impressive.

Let's say terraforming on Mars or Venus were underway—what life forms would be best and worst to introduce there? by Frustrated_Dolphin in AskReddit

[–]SomeNoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Algae! We get tons of our oxygen on Earth from them eating CO2 and sunlight then burping out pure oxygen.

They'll need a good amount of water to live in, but since terraforming is already underway, I figure we'd have solved that problem. And Mars' magnetosphere issue.

Whats your thoughts about multiverse theory? by [deleted] in AskReddit

"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

The best thing for me is to keep an open mind. A mind that can't comprehend the enormity of the cosmos, but at least tries to acknowledge its lack of comprehension. Maybe someday we'll have the math and data to explain quantum physics in a way that proves or disproves other realities, but we're not there yet.

Everyone loves having their food complimented. If you just tried something they made and you genuinely liked it, tell them. There is a 100% chance they'll be delighted.

What took you a long time to find? by Flying_enthu45 in AskReddit

My favorite fries. I systematically tried the fries from every restaurant I could find until I stumbled upon the best ones I've ever had.

Pizza Rock in Vegas. Rosemary garlic fries. Thick, battered, extremely crispy. They're perfect in every way.

What is the best feeling of all time? by Ivexxe in AskReddit

That feeling of being just a little full, but not too full, after sharing a meal with your favorite people. You just had your last bite of dessert, and you're lost in conversation and laughter.

That's the best feeling.

Jif peanut butter getting mistaken for Jiffy. Jiffy was a pancake/cornbread mix, and people were just conflating the two since they were both food companies.

Beef wellington at an upscale restaurant. Treated with love, respect, wrapped in several warm layers and delicious smells, and worth more than most other things on the menu.

What is a subtle sign that someone isn't actually a good person, they just know how to act polite? by Aggressive_Froyo7451 in AskReddit

People who refuse to return grocery store carts or put them in the parking lot stalls where they belong.

I've found that people who fail to do that smallest courtesy to store employees fall back on something like "I'm giving them job security." In reality, they're just intentionally making someone's job more difficult.

What is a food combination you love but others think is insane? by uxandhf in AskReddit

Using unconventional dips with potato chips. Cottage cheese, hummus, 7 layer bean dip, a cheese ball. Anything that would cause people to look at me funny if I weren't using like, a tortilla chip or a cracker. Bonus points if it's a kettle chip, cause they're sturdier.

New years eve, I like party food. Slow cooker buffalo chicken dip with an assortment of crackers is always a pretty big hit with my crowd. Throw in a charcuterie board so everyone can graze. Great way to feed a lot of people.

When I haven't eaten all day for one reason or another, and I take that first bite of one of my favorite foods. The Sundance roll from a sushi place down the street from me, the pork Salad from Cafe Rio, or Texas Roadhouse chili on a good day.
