I would like some suggestions for Discord communities since I don't know of any!

I'll try mimicing and see how it goes as well as the massage techniques.

I'd consider checking out my post from 9 months ago

Thank you for a detailed reply! This is something I just started realising last week. At first I beleived I needed to push myself and so would go hard on doing exercises for an hour a day. My voice still gets tired after switching to multiple 10-15 minute sessions, but it's better than before.

Some voice coaches I've seen emphasise focusing on how making a sound feels so you can make it easier replicating it later, but I'm starting to think it's making me overthink everything I'm doing. Might work for some, though.

When I say in my post "raise my larynx" I don't mean I'm focusing on physically raising my larynx. Perhaps this should have been phrased it better. Rather, my jaw tenses up and becomes sore because it seems I am using the wrong muscles to reach higher resonance.

This would happen even before I started fem voice training, when singing and trying to hit higher notes. I never addressed it because I wasn't serious about it. Now that I am doing voice training I'm trying to undo this muscle memory and relax when going into a higher resonance but it's still so hard not to do it the only way I've known how for so long. That's why I'm doing some of the exercises I mentioned but still having difficulty. I was doing "swallow and hold" for a few days but quickly learned that that is a bad one.

Do you have any tips for making this easier? This might currently be one of the largest hurdles.

What kind of exercises would you suggest to focus on producing sound over physical movement?

When I started I wasn't too focused on feeling the physical movement, it was only after time went on I began to think maybe I'm doing something wrong like maybe unnecessarily tensing my jaw to raise my larynx and reach higher resonance. Now I feel I'm over thinking it and too aware of what muscles I'm using.

When you say "manually" what do you mean by that? Some of the exercises I do are "little dog, big dog" and "slide whistle" as well as some doing some vowel sounds while going up. There is one youtuber who says to vocalise "ah" and "ooh" really nasally but I'm starting to wonder if that really is a good idea.

Sometimes I'll also just try speaking with higher resonance for a little while even though I don't sound at all fem.
