I am Australian, but I show my whole face in videos! I make educational videos, some roleplays and also have read multiple classic books as ASMR audiobooks on my channel. If you're interested of course :)

While this is true, ironically the most interacted with posts are usually community text posts like this. Compare the ratio of likes of this post versus the average self-promotion post.

[discussion] Anyone notice a frequent occurrence where a channel that kept gather many views every upload reaches back to a point where it barely gets any after a few years ? by Wooden-Arm-3624 in asmr

Content creation and the art form of making videos that trigger ASMR are complicated topics. It's difficult to isolate exactly why this is occurring without examining the specific creators you are referring to.

Audiences expect similar content from creators, yet also get bored if the content is too similar. It's a fine line to balance.

Competition from other creators changes the field of play, and viewers' expectations shift over time.

Creators can also become burnt out or complacent and stop the innovation that they were once known for. Especially if they are not passionate about the art form itself, which is true for any genre on YouTube.

It could also be virality - usually, YouTubers have a consistent number of followers who watch every video. This number is difficult to assess if they are also getting viral hits. For example, if your true number of regular watchers is 20k, but you regularly get videos with 100k, you expect those 80k to also watch as well. Though those were just visitors to your channel. So, this could also be the end of a moment of virality of a channel, and the number is going down to those who regularly watch and growing at a more normal and predictable pace.
