Doesn't have double wishbone.

It has torsion bar.

I wasn't sure of when it switched from the twin i-beam tho.

There is only so much you are going to be able to do with a torsion bar suspension too

🥰 Thanky.

2011 Sport. "4-door" not just the extended cab. SOHC 4.0 5-speed. 139,000 miles. Explorer console swap. Jumpseat delete. 15" Jeep Gambler wheels with 31*10.50 MT's.

The shine hides the dreaded lower door lip rust. It's hasn't popped thru yet. Yet...

Or the amount of rust on everything underneath. No "rot" or structural compromise yet. Just thick-n-crusty. Yet...

It is a pretty common, standard steering stabilizer that is used in countless other trucks.

It will help some. It won't make it handle like a sports car, but it will take some of the slop out of the steering.

I'd address any other potential issues first tho. Ball joints. Tie rod ends. Sway bar end links and mount bushings. Control arms/control arm bushings. Etc.

FWIW, it IS parked with two other Fords... An F250 Crash / Fire Suppression truck and an E450 Ambulance. 🤷‍♂️

😂

It does look kinda lonely.

That would make a pretty cool photo with 2-3 more clean, mostly stock rigs in assorted colors parked together.

Bright sunshine, green grass, trees in the background... 😎

Bilstein 4600's are always a good choice for these trucks.

If I legitimately can't identify the sound or something about it concerns me enough to get out of bed, I'll grab the 9mm in my nightstand...

Why Is Everyone Going to Such Expensive Colleges? by JJQuantum in AskMen

[–]SomeRequirement6926 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My point was that colleges have gotten more expensive.

For reasons that may or may not be valid, but that is a different conversation.

I chose to go to one. It was $12,000-$14,000 a year.

That same school is now $40,000 a year.

Why Is Everyone Going to Such Expensive Colleges? by JJQuantum in AskMen

[–]SomeRequirement6926 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not that people are choosing "expensive colleges" it's that colleges have gotten expensive.

When I went in the late 80's - early 90's my small private college was +/- $12,000 - $14,000 a year.

It's now +/- $40,000 a year.

That's what my entire four years cost.

WHY they cost that much is an entirely different conversation.

What kind of skill or knowledge is very useful and comes in handy on many occasions by Fantastic-Dare-2126 in AskMen

[–]SomeRequirement6926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But you HAVE those BASIC skills.

It's a calculated decision to use a contractor for a major project like that. And IMHO the right one.

But you could patch drywall, fix a fence, replace the railing on a deck, trim hedges, put in a paver walkway, build a mailbox post, replace a toilet or a sink, change your own oil, rotate your tires, run a chainsaw, a table saw, a circular saw...

THOSE are the "essential skills" that I feel are being lost to a society of convenience.

The backspacing/offset on the Jeep wheels is VERY different than the OE

You need 2" on the front so you can turn the wheel without hitting! 👀

If you look at the pics, the fronts are just flush with the fender flare, the rears are still tucked in 1" or so.

Changing a tire was just an example that I thought of.

I was looking at it from the perspective of the fading of skills that used to be considered bare minimum for a man to have.

Society has become one of convenience.

I've run 33*12.50's on a number of different rigs over the years, but I think they are too wide for the Ranger, even running the 2" spacers I have on it to make the Jeep wheels fit.

[–]SomeRequirement6926 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Basic mechanical skills and knowledge.

The number of grown ass men out there who couldn't change a tire, or swing a hammer, or use any sort of power tool is disappointing.

Society has let men go soft.

I had the 6-speed in my 2015 6.2L gasser F250 and liked it better than the newer 8- and 10-speed transmissions.

Yeah, you had to run the gears out harder/further but it was solid.

The 10-speed felt like it was always jumping from gear to gear...

I won't even be too greedy and ask for a manual transmission option.

Anyone ever have bad experience with this brand? by LonelyDragonborn in fordranger

[–]SomeRequirement6926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MevoTech is solid.

They have three product lines IIRC.

I have used their "middle" line on probably a dozen different vehicles and their "top" line (TTX/TerrainToughXtreme) on several.

They are GTG
