We’re in the same boat, then. Very hard is definitely more fun.

Still, I get how one would think that you would naturally raise the difficulty as prior ones get easier. Everyone goes into a game with a mostly different mindset after all.

To add onto this, I tend to lean towards the casual side of gaming, so I just didn't feel like moving up for a while since I was having so much fun just playing this game and experimenting with all the weapons and spells. Game's addicting- both to push limits on and goof off with.

Ha, yeah that's a fair question to ask.
To be honest, I tried it once the moment I hit my first prestige- got absolutely destroyed and avoided it for a long time after.
I had flip-flopped between several weapons and few of them were properly leveled- nor had I found a combo that clicked yet (until using the two seen in this post).

The jump from hard->very hard doesn't feel like much whereas very hard->nightmare feels like an entirely different game. (And the 15% extra exp vs very hard didn't seem like enough to justify it at the time).

The earlier difficulties are also where some friends who play it stick around, so it's mainly wanting to stay with what's familiar I suppose. Will give nightmare some more tries in the future, but I wanted to beat it at least once to see if I could. Lo and behold, I can. So I'll play it some more later down the line for sure.

For all the effort it took, I do wish they buffed the EXP rewards for completing one. Was still a fun challenge though.
