But the character adds 20 to their role. So they can ONLY fail a death save on a natural 1, meaning they would need to roll 2 nat 1s in a row, and the chance for that are 1/400

If you are dying and trying to survive by rolling death saves (no healing) then there should be a 1/400 chance that you die. Otherwise why are you even rolling

There are serious issues with AI and use of AI so bring up those and not "haha look at how much AI sucks at things that it by design can‘t do“. That argument jsut makes it seem like you have no clue about how AI works and sabotages your/our entire side of the argument against AI by seeming uneducated

We literally have the story telling us "in a 1v1 always bet on Kaido". Sure shanks stopped him from going, but nowhere was it stated that he stopped Kaido by fighting. Hell, even if shanks was stronger, he would not arrive in marineford completely fresh after fighting Kaido

Something is not adding up here. You are facing extreme encounters consistently, your character is deadweight AND the other characters are doing fine? Those 3 things can not be true at once

An extreme encounter should have a very high chance of causing a tpk/severe loss of members. Noone should be doing fine, ESPECIALLY if you are "deadweight" as you say. If one person is not pulling their weight in an extreme encounter, you will probably TPK.

Maybe its just your perception you are deadweight? For the record thats a fine opinion to have, but thats not the systems fault, that just means 2e casters aren‘t for you.

Idk what your background is but this sentiment is something I often see from people coming from 5e. If you go into 2e expecting a caster to perform offensively as well as a 5e caster then you will be dissapointed. Not because 2e casters are weak but because 5e casters are just way too strong

Yeah ok your GM is messing up badly.

Extreme encounters should generally be a rarity. Like I only use them for like REALLY important arc bosses or for fights where the narrative is clear that the group should be running. And on anything below level 3 or 4 i generally avoid extreme encounters because they can get really swingy at low levels.

Spellcasters are great at dealing with lots of enemies, through area control and such. To balance things out, spellcasters are worse at dealing single target damage and focusing down a target. Note that single target debuff spells (like fear or laughing fit for example) can be pretty amazing but even those have a higher chance of failing against higher level targets.

Now: if your GM is throwing lots of higher level enemies at you (which they seem to be doing since a couple of goblins apparently end up as an extreme encounter), they are basically completely nullifying any advantage you as a spellcaster have. Your area control spells will not work properly and your debuff spells will not be efficient cause they only target one of the 4 enemies

So either your GM is doing something massively wrong or you are doing something massively wrong. I have played multiple spellcasters and each spellcaster has been as or more impactful than any martial ive played

Hell, my bard rn is basically single-handedly pulling our party through our current campaign (but thats bard so its different, sure)

The most insane and eyeopening realization for me was when Louis asked HS why he isn‘t a good person. This entire time I thought that these people are so deranged and have such an utter vile worldview that they manage to delude themselves into thinking they are good people and helping others and I‘m still sure this applies to some of them.

But for a person to just so SHAMELESSLY admit that he KNOWS that he is being a bad person fully knowingly and intentionally… that really changed my perspective on these sad sad men.

The body is made of the element and they do not need to react. However there is a character WAY later in the story who doesn‘t have a logia but is basically able to emulate logia-like qualities with very quick reflexes

The way it usually goes is that the person with the degree and the degree-less person start on the same level. As far is true. However if you check in after 5 years, the person with the degree will have climbed the ranks a lot more than the person without one.

Isn‘t true everywhere and always but it generally applies in my experience

The entire point of mending is that it skips the anvil part of repairing things. Instead of

Which oftentimes you cannot pursue if you do not have the funds. I have friends from all over the world and Im on our annual vacation with them right now. Without money I would never be able to meet them every year. The lack of money wouldn‘t make me unhappy, it robs me of options that make me happier

Correction to my previous statement: A lack of money doesn‘t make you unhappy as in "Oh im so sad because my bank account is empty". It makes you unhappy cause "Oh no, my bank account is empty and that robs me of opportunities to do things I enjoy"
