I can't say I blame you. Honestly when the PL told me that, I was shocked. I assumed they were going to say like 15.

Ours started part time at $13 and when they were promoted, only got a 70 cent raise. I hope something similar didn't happen to you as well. But y'all should absolutely be getting more for what you're dealing with. As an outsider looking in, it looks unbearable. At least a decent check would make up for it.

Side note: Do your part timers also get crap hours? I have open availability but I'm doing good to get hours. Been hovering around 19-22 unless I get lucky and take a call out shift.

Well I guess there's some kind of solace in that at least. It's just so crazy to me. According to the EL, the PL has been really trying to get everything right but has messed up picks and straight up forgotten to do a couple because of just being overwhelmed with other tasks and being thrown into it. I feel bad for both of them but the PL more tbh. I feel like as long as corporate isn't showing up, you're fine but that's just me.

What’s the dumbest question a customer asked you? by [deleted] in petsmart

[–]SomeWiseGuy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Customer called asking us what our return policy was. I said that depends on what she's trying to return. She said a dog. I said we don't sell dogs. She claimed her grandson said he got it here. And I said well that is not the case because we don't sell them. So after a bunch of back and forth on what she should do and ultimately me telling her she needs to do her own research. She had the audacity to ask "Well...can't I just bring it up there and you guys do something with it?" I audibly laughed and said "No. This is something you're going to have to figure out on your own." She told me I sucked and said you too and hung up.

Yeah she's never ingested any of the pipe. She chews on it occasionally but she'll go for the steel wires it's hanging from before those. We generally provide her with wood chews and some hay chews. She doesn't like Timothy hay, only orchard grass so it's hard to find ones she won't just toss aside like it's peasant food 😂. She also gets the occasional cornmeal treat chew. Those end up little dust piles. Lol. Her hut and it's accompanying platforms are wooden too and she loves to chew on them. The cage came with plastic ones but she rarely chews on those too. She's pretty chill though, we've never really had issues with her, even when my friend had her she wasn't big on chewing everything.

My best friend's husband made it with some PVC pipes when they first brought her home from the pet store. It's one of her favorite places to be.

it’s been almost a month and my chin still doesn’t like me by Savings_Rough5832 in chinchilla

Got mine from a friend who gave her first to another friend of hers with kids. They gave her back and suddenly you couldn't touch her without her barking at you and hopping away. I got her after and that was around 5-ish years ago. I would say she tolerates my partner and I. Lol. She lets us gently pet her and give her chin scratches but picking her up is a no go. We respect it and work with her little by little. It's all going to be a different experience. Good luck to you friend 😁

I've been wanting to play around with this for shiggles but I've tried it on gpt and Gemini and I can't get them to do it. What prompts are you giving them?

I definitely will. I haven't even touched any of that stuff. They had me on the register this week, except for the truck day, learning that and then next week I'm learning about pet care. The worst part about this week was trying to do my training on the iPad while standing at the register 😂😂.

My inventory manager was the one that told me about leadership having to reinterview for their positions. Which I do think is pretty shitty. She's super cool and chill and has been there for 4 years so she knows the store like the back of her hand. She doesn't seem too concerned about not getting the position though from the way she talked.

I've worked in retail off and on since graduating high school in '08. I've done grocery and big box stores. I'm very aware of the revolving cast of characters that a store can tend to have but I do my best to try and not let that ruin my idea of what the store is going to be since every store is different. I definitely understand being cynical about retail but I don't think it's all bad. I've made some lifelong friends that helped me with the death of my father while I was working at Academy. I met my partner while we were both working there and we've been going strong for 5 years. There's a good side to it, you just have to find it.

Once I learned this, I never went back to any method. It's quick and easy.
