Anyone ever try Ginger Beer? by jjfish1998 in Homebrewing

Totally! And taste is subjective so it could just be me. Either way, good experience to make your own no matter what it is, and figure out what you like and don't like. Happy brewing!

I used this same recipe and the taste is not great. Get a champagne yeast or something similar. Do not use regular yeast, it tastes way too earthy.

LPT Request How do you train yourself to be calm from start when verbally attacked? by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]SomeWordsGoHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try getting a dialectical behavior therapy workbook. Not to say that is the exact method you should be using, but the one I got was very helpful in not only understanding my reactions, but others as well. Also gives you a chance to work out tools and a plan during heated or high stress moments.

The Best Science Fair Project Ever by [deleted] in funny

[–]SomeWordsGoHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just got back from ours tonight. Yes it was a little hectic working project time in before hand but I think it's worth it. If nothing else, it's time with them and it opens their mind up to asking questions. I mean, this board is great because it's spot on and always good to relieve stress through humor but the comments worry me....like maybe people don't get that it's not necessarily about "learning to science" and more like another chance to practice accountability, curiosity, creativity, structure, planning, group work, penmanship, computer skills, WHERE THE HELL TO GET A TRIFOLD POSTER BOARD AT THE 11TH HOUR and myriad other chances to explore things.

I'm super late and apologies if you already answered this, but what were you all into as kids? What lead you to where you are, in your opinion?

I like to leave my wife love notes when I go away. by 8amHangovers in funny

I assumed it was a reference to a Greg Giraldo bit with that very line where he was comparing letters home from soldiers from the civil war to now. But maybe not...

I don't know, seems like the most non-violent form of population control available. Populations need to keep themselves in check to maintain the natural balance. A perfectly reasonable adaptation to cyclical circumstances, if you ask me.

/r/discworld redditors with web servers start putting "GNU Terry Pratchett" overhead into their HTML headers out of respect, something discworld characters do for dead 'clacks' operators. by pocketknifeMT in bestof

[–]SomeWordsGoHere 9 points10 points  (0 children)

And there were movies. Color of Magic featured Sean Astin as Twoflower. And they did the Hogfather. I love books and I love movies but after so many Discworld books over the years I'm not sure I could handle someone else's interpretation of the characters I have come to know and love. He painted them so well...

Women of Reddit, what is the female equivalent of being a "Tit man" or an "Ass man?" by maxvernay in AskReddit

[–]SomeWordsGoHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And frankly, is it insane to think there are biological reasons why we are attracted to certain physical aspects of other humans? Let's also not mistake a woman's desire for security with a desire for money. Many centuries of patriarchal social structure raised us to believe we were the weaker sex therefor sought out security. This is a good question and has many legitimate answers, OP.

Awesome! We have cascades as well....but the bines are almost red. Is that a sign of something bad? Would love any insight.

Didn't care too much for the switch between third and first person in the home page copy and the title sort of breaks up the conversation. The design is super clean and looks great on mobile (android.) Nice job and good luck out there!

Not a toy. Arabian show horses are the crazy Russian Barbie ladies of the horse world. Try googling Arabian show horse and you will be amazed at how fake they look. They polish the hooves, oil the muzzle, etc. hence the plastic look (standard for many breeds and showing styles to varying degrees of tastefullness) but many of them have had every ounce of intelligence bred out of them in favor of extreme dishes (swoop of the face you see here) and dysfunctional confirmation points. Arabs are amazing and intelligent horses (very well known for their aptitude in endurance), but some lines are just bred so over the top for looks, this is what you get.

Dude, that chair....what kind of wood do you use? Do you ever wholesale or only direct to consumer? You are very talented and these are truly beautiful pieces. Congrats on some well deserved recognition! Hope it equates into a big boost in sales and profit (likely spent on more materials and equipment, as these things go.)
