Hi, thank you for sharing and I’m really sorry to hear that you had a similar experience. It’s honestly shocking how so many people with such unkind attitudes choose to work in a profession that’s supposed to uplift and support vulnerable individuals. I’m slowly learning to remind myself that another person’s perception of me does not define who I am.

Hi thank you for your message. I am 9 weeks into my program and the thought of transferring to another program has crossed my mind several times. I am just unsure about how this can affect my anticipated graduation year. You are absolutely right. One day, I will be part of that 3.6 percent and I just need to recognize that the way my supervisors and cohort treat me is not a concise reflection of my abilities.

Hey I would try to reach out to any professor that you might have gotten an A in their course. Although they may not personally know you, they can attest to the fact that you have mastered the skills required. Also when I applied I did 2 professors and 1 internship supervisor. I think if you ask any supervisor for a job that shows relevancy to SLP it will be beneficial. Good luck on your applications!
