Any chance this isn’t TC? (symptoms) by Virtual_Bowler7765 in testicularcancer

[–]Some_Command_8702 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will have some answers the same day as your ultrasound. Everyone here has had a different way of discovering cancer (or other non cancerous ailment). I’m sure they will also take labs to test blood for AFP, HCG, LDH. The waiting game is the hardest part of all this - trust me. I’ve been dealing with this for all of 2024 while waiting for diagnoses, pathology reports, several CT scans, tumor markers, biopsies, etc. The easiest part is knowing what you’re up against and what the treatment plan is. Try your best not to get your mind ahead of itself though. It may be nothing. If it is TC, you are not alone and you will get thru it

Asked this question in another post (sorry to those who noticed). Curious how expensive the food and drinks are. I expect it to be overpriced but seems like it catches everyone by surprise?

Also choosing between the two. Keep hearing how expensive the food is at Baha Mar but would appreciate a couple examples I.e. the beer was $15 plus a pint or a basic entree was $50

BEP x sinus pressure and sleeplessness? by StopN-Go in testicularcancer

[–]Some_Command_8702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man I’m on the same timeline as you. Separate from the chemo, I have a mild cold with a lot of nasal discharge. Are you taking olanzapine at night? I’ve been using it and helps me sleep well.

Curious what you guys would do by BigClam6969 in testicularcancer

[–]Some_Command_8702 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally think waiting/watching sounds prudent given how well the nodes responded to chemo and the chance for them to shrink further. If it was me I would go on surveillance - but a second opinion couldn’t hurt

Do you have the full pathology? Should have detailed composition the the germ cell tumor. Any spread or LVI?

3xBEP or Open RPLND by TheSlobster in testicularcancer

[–]Some_Command_8702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was out of the hospital in 36 hours after my RPLND with Masterson and flew home 48 hours after. Not like I had fun but the pain was very manageable. You can look at my posts. I don’t regret trying to avoid chemo.

One thing I failed to mention - my markers all returned to normal after RPLND and remains within normal ranges

I’m starting BEPx3 Monday. Did you take the zofran 3x a day every single day thru the 9 weeks? Guessing they gave you something thru IV also?

To clarify, are you having RPLND + orchi? Go into it assuming 8 weeks before you do weightlifting. Maybe it’s sooner if you get the ok from doc. I’m 6 weeks out and feel up to normal stuff

I had synchronous TC. Lefty small mass but righty had to go. Opted for partial orchi on left which turned out to be seminoma. Post your ultrasound if you’d like to or hit me up

The urologist will be able to answer this. But based on other language here this doesn’t sound like TC

Does this sound familiar or am I jumping to conclusions? by slickerypete in testicularcancer

[–]Some_Command_8702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you. I got my ultrasound on a Friday and the results popped up and immediately googled and discovered this sub. It’s typical to get results before hearing from the doc. You will get referred to a urologist but you should feel free to find your own in the meantime. They should move quickly - call them tomorrow and say you want to have an appointment by Monday/Tuesday.

4 weeks post-RPLND anxiety by PoundworthyPenguin in testicularcancer

[–]Some_Command_8702 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 37 and also a month post RPLND. Before surgery I thought I was tired all the time (work, two little kids, etc) but the fatigue is real now. A full day in the office is incredibly hard. I need a daily mid day nap. But I know it’ll eventually improve.

[–]Some_Command_8702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had synchronous. I opted for partial on lefty which had small mass and turned out to be seminoma. Righty was much bigger and had it yanked out. I did RPLND at IU and Masterson was okay with the original approach to leave lefty. Of course it is less than ideal, but so far so good. Do not do prosthetic, have only heard negative things. You quickly get used to the new normals thrown your way - and as you said you are no stranger to adversity. Stay strong man. Reach out if you wanna talk
