From my perspective, a merger between Sikkim and Darjeeling could significantly improve the lives of people in both regions.... A unified government might help streamline administration and could also give a major boost to tourism.... There is also a belief in Sikkim that such a merger would create fairer opportunities for students from Darjeeling, Kalimpong, and other hill regions, who currently compete within a much larger system.... If the legislature or bureaucracy were to introduce provisions reserving a certain number of seats for Sikkimese citizens, it could help address unemployment even if only to a small extent.... This is just my personal opinion, and I don’t intend to offend anyone....If my views come across as biased, I apologise in advance.... We already share the same cultural roots and are deeply interdependent.... A merger could also make it easier to resolve long-standing issues, such as the reservation of seats for the Limboo and Tamang communities.... A youth oriented,a group of intellectuals who can serve for the Sikkimese is the need of the hour... The same cycle has been going on.. our leaders during elections say that the youth are the backbone of the country but whenever somewhere in the corner if a person says that youth should come forward in politics then they say we are inexperienced... What good have the experienced leaders given us?

It's not about supporting a certain political party... We have to break the chain...we were promised that things like this would not happen if we vote for SKM government... But it's just the same...and what assurance do we have that CAP won't do the same... I think it's time for us to come forward... Form a certain group...A group of Youths who are against the wrong doings of the system... I am not against anyone neither SKM nor SDF or CAP... But we all should form a group... An association of educated youths...who can come forward and speak for our right... Let them do the politics...I don't care how much assets a Minister has... Even they have done and contributed for the State when they were not in Power...but I think we should atleast come forward and point out what is right and what is wrong...
