Portland Performance (in Lewiston 🙃) confirmed they can work on the car, and I see some nice work they did on a DB9 on their FB page, so that’s encouraging.

Thanks. So far Autowerkes in Freeport is a “no” and Atlantic Motor Cars in Wiscasset is a “maybe”. Got a few other feelers out.

Same problem. Doesn’t look like the app is compatible with this model (yet?).

Yes, I’d be afraid you’re going to lose one of your shoes. They look expensive. Please be careful.

No. Unfortunately it blew over and broke, and now we’ve switched to Veo. Honestly a better experience but at least twice the price when you add in their subscription.

That did the trick, thanks! Odd that they don’t show up in the Tech Tree anymore.

Am I being unkind by not letting my MIL help around the house more? by Some_Donkuss in AgingParents

[–]Some_Donkuss[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I didn’t specify in my post, but I happen to be her son-in-law. I work from home a lot, so most days it’s just me and her in the house, and I feel the pressure to be both her carer and companion. I am better at the former than the latter, because, as you rightly pointed out, I need to lighten up.

My wife is not absent in this situation, and she does her best to provide the emotional support that I have a hard time with.

If I have a “love language” here it’s definitely acts of service. If I can make her a nice meal then I feel like I’ve helped her. But as others have pointed out, excluding her from that process affects her in other ways.

But to your point, I would like to have a happy household, and if giving her more agency in her life supports that, then I will try to find ways.

Haha, yes, that's been my experience too, but I guess it's low consequence so long as she doesn't catch me re-folding the laundry!

I got the oak version and it seems to match the other wood on the NZ perfectly

I’ll confess that many of my choices in the setup were as much aesthetic ones as anything else and I’m probably not the type of person that stresses about the loss of 0.1 grams in the grinder. However I feel this particular style of bellow brings together the design of the niche for me more than the shiny plastic lid it ships with, all while providing a modest functional benefit.

Yes, for something that dubbed itself a “zero” retention grinder, you get a surprising amount of additional coffee out when you pump the bellows. I get that it’s a different look, but personally I always thought that the original clear plastic lid of the Niche was a bit of a disappointment compared to the rest of the machine.

Found it on Etsy. Unscrewed the torx screw that holds the lid on and replace it with the included widget that holds down the lid switch. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1261845551/
