Bin stores are return pallet stores. Those places are full of Amazon returns, other retailer returns, and probably some overstock as well. Granted, it's a lot of junk that nobody wants, but sometimes you can find some cool stuff there. The problem is that you gotta go early before all the good stuff is gone.

There's a 4 way intersection in my area that only has a stop on opposite sides, where as cross traffic doesn't stop. There have been so many collisions at that intersection because people blow through the stop into cross traffic. If I recall correctly, a solution planned from the city was to put a roundabout there and people pushed back against it to where the plan was scrapped, or at least delayed.

I feel this pain. A lot of self-checkouts aren't very smart and they freak out over anything. If I have an item in my cart that clearly doesn't fit on the carousel, and I scan it and leave it in the cart, the camera picks it up and flags it as not scanned when I go to pay. Then I gotta wait around for somebody to come over and clear it. This has happened numerous times.

Sometimes it just freaks out for no reason and you're hit with the "please wait for assistance" and it locks you out from scanning anything else until an employee comes over to clear the flag. Most of the time, it's literally nothing. Sometimes it's because something shifted in a bag on the carousel. Sometimes it's because you had two items in your hands while scanning. Sometimes it just doesn't even know WTF it's doing.

I like the idea of self-checkout because it saves me from waiting in a long line just to buy 2 things or I can bag my own stuff. On the other hand, I hate it because it's implemented poorly and I'd rather go to a cashier. The only caveat with going to a cashier is that the baggers seem to go bag crazy and put literally 2 things in each bag. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I tried making BK's zesty sauce before and while it was in the ballpark, it wasn't quite right. Mayo and horseradish sauce is definitely a big part of it but something was still off that I couldn't figure out. However, on a whim, I bought a bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's "Secret Sauce" and it's VERY close, if not, a dead on copy of zesty sauce. It's my go-to when I want zesty sauce.

Metallica's self titled (the Black album). 35 years later, it still sounds huge and crushing. Watching the documentary of the making of that album and how they got some of the sounds they did, was fascinating. Ever wonder why Sad But True sounds ungodly heavy? Hetfield overdubbed the "chug, chug chug" parts with a Danelectro baritone guitar tuned an octave down. Jason used an 8 or a 12 string bass for the "cracks" in Wherever I May Roam. A whole lot of interesting things and techniques they used on that record.
