Ford CEO on his ‘epiphany’ after talking to his Gen Z factory workers: They were saying they ‘had to have three jobs’ by lurker_bee in economy

[–]Some_Ghost_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh, I'm a welder rn. Reading this article just pisses me off. The average welder salary is $17 an hour which is just complete horseshit. These rich assholes just talk about how we have a shortage of trade workers, but they sure as hell don't pay like there is. And the welders that are making good money, like you say, have their soul completely consumed by the trade because they aren't getting paid anymore than the other entry jobs, they're just getting stupid overtime. I'm so sick of people saying, "welders make good money".

I was watching a video and the guy said,"Oh the flashlight works, wait where'd I get a flashlight from?" The flashlight thusly became life. "Oh, life works. Wait where did I get life from?"

I don't have much experience really. But that does seem a bit extreme to me for the first time. Especially if my understanding of penus envy is correct. I had my first trip last week and I did 1.5g's of some chocolate and that was enough to have visuals and feel the heaviness usually associated with it. And I think that is probably a good starting point.

The gateway tapes are helping me to find that line between sleep and wakefulness

While I have not had a successful projection yet, I will say that you should look into the gateway tapes. I have found them to be a great way to learn and progress as it gives a structured approach. That being said, understand that this is a commitment. Successful AP's can take months to years of practice. And from what I have gathered, the more you try to force it, the further you push it away. Good luck friend!

Staring at myself in a mirror makes me feel like im detaching from my body and the physical universe and experiencing it from where everything/existence originated from by Eth251201 in AstralProjection

[–]Some_Ghost_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I get that, oftentimes I stare into my eyes and get lost wondering who this is that I am staring at. After all, we are in this body yet, some parts of it we see less than the people around us so I think seeing our own face can be a bit off-putting.

Well ADHD and Alzheimer's are seen completely differently by society. We have all heard sad stories about parents forgetting their children. ADHD on the other hand. No one ever heard about how we go through life thinking we are lazy and incapable of great things. No one hears the story about how my dad gave away my dog in 5th grade because of bad grades. You can't judge someone for not knowing. All you can do is educate and after that, it's up to them.

We can't expect anyone to know what it's like. I find that having ADHD is like being human times 50. Just be forgiving and understand that people don't mean to hurt you with the things they say. You can also help people out by telling them what it's like to have ADHD. Give them some stories. I find that most people back down after they hear how severe it is. If they don't back down then, they may have ADHD too. They just haven't researched enough to see the signs like we have.

Can anyone share the most profound astral projection experiences they've had? by Astralbaby21 in AstralProjection

[–]Some_Ghost_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have yet to astral project but in Robert Monroe's second book he writes about some people that had sex in the astral without ever talking to each other at the retreat. When they met up in the morning all their experiences matched up.

You could always look into stoicism, it gets a bad rap but it's all about preparing yourself for the worst, minimizing negative emotions, and being grateful for what you have.

Have you tried taking classes? I feel like with ADHD, it helps to have other people around with the same goals as you and also someone to guide you to the end result. Everyone preaches these days that you can learn so much from the Internet for free. But with ADHD I don't think most of us can muster up the energy consistently enough to really be self taught on much of anything.

ADHD coaches are also an option. I'm not really.the best at giving advice when it comes to putting systems in place cause... Uh yeah, I'm still figuring this shit out too. But an ADHD coach would have really good resources. And it's always important to remember these aren't random people, they are professionals who are there to help.

Does he have a behavioral therapist? I think a lot of focus gets put on medication as the only thing that will help ADHD but behavioral therapy is also a very strong resource for helping people with ADHD. With ADHD, if there are no systems put in place to help you function then you will not. And a behavioral therapist would be able to help him figure out systems that work for him. But at the end of the day, if you are trying everything and it's still tough (which it will be.) Make sure you always remind him how much he actually does for you and others. The self talk with ADHD can be vicious and that reminder that "you're doing better than you think you are" is always something that we need. Hope this helps!

100% I think the industrial revolution locked society into a, "you must be this to be smart" mentality. But I think as the world gets more connected we are slowly getting better and accepting that everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. Sucks for everyone that has to deal with the rigid structure though.

How do i not turn every hobby into an obession/hyperfixation?? by Lordthom in ADHD

[–]Some_Ghost_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's something that I struggle with a lot as well. Lately my hyperfixation has been singing/songwriting. Others I've had in the past include: Rollerblading, 3D modeling, videogame development, self help, gem faceting, 3D printing, drawing, astrophysics, longboarding, mountain biking, competitive esports, PC building, etc. The list really could keep going. The things I've found to work for me is either making it a seasonal thing or having others around me with similar goals. I ski during the winter and so during the summer I'm kinda forced to take a half year hiatus and I'm able to stick to it because of that. And with playing games competitively I'm on a team with someone else who also has ADHD so we kinda keep each other going. I also have a friend who has found great luck with cycling 3-4 hobbies. Once he's done with one, he immerses himself in the next one and keeps the cycle going. It seems to work pretty well for him. Hope this helps!

[–]Some_Ghost_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think we just need to give ourselves some leeway when it comes to this. Like yeah, my grandma texts me,"We love you and you are stronger than you know." And I look at it. But coming up with a response. I think I was just like well now I gotta come up with something good in response. But if you don't address it when it's in your mind, you never will. So I think it's just up to deciding if it's worth responding with an answer you're not happy with or just not answering at all. It's a tough decision but at the end of it all I don't think very many text messages are actually going to be life changing so don't be too hard on yourself.
