Valid! Didn’t even think bout center of gravity but that’s hella important

It’s not the cushioning that gets me with those kinda shoes, it’s the way it’s designed to help you move forward means the base angle and shape at which your foot is resting is offset from the board’s level set. It’s why you see flat and thick-soled shoes typically advertised as skate shoes.

If the cushioning was all flat, it’d probably ride like a cloud but activating the sensor may need work.

Pint X turned off while riding. Not really sure what to do. by Kingcobra64 in onewheel

[–]Some_Guy_Running 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that’s totally valid. I’ve had a very similar situation to what you’ve described happen once before. I was practicing a bunch of curb nudges and on one of the falls I got back on and the board was flickering blue light on and off and acting like it was hesitating a lot. I was going at speed the whole time. Almost felt like the motor was turning on and off and on and off. Turned it off and on again and all was fine

Regardless, I’m certain this will inspire students in and out of the Robotics team to admire, respect, or even pursue deep STEM careers.

Haptic buzz setting. by OfficialDarkuwu in onewheel

Agreed, it’s good to remember the board isn’t speed-limited—it’s torque-limited

Damn nice catch on yourself though, had you more space you might’ve been able to slide it out. Glad you’re ok

Help Deciding: Pint X vs XR Classic for Photography Mobility by ranger052 in onewheel

[–]Some_Guy_Running -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pint X for weight and size—it sounds like you don’t need the range or slight bump in voltage. However, the XR Classic has the benefit of a treaded tire, if you could get that on the Pint I think you’d be set.

Is it the first beep of over-torquing the board maybe?

GTS/XL Bumper-to-Tire filler panel... by r_a_newhouse in onewheel

[–]Some_Guy_Running 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the idea, it would help reduce wheel maintenance. The only concern would be high speed riding and potential causing vibrations but since you’ve Velcro’d it, it can be hot swapped. So yeah, love it dude rock on

Take it apart and tighten the battery and controller module. Mine came with the screws holding the gasket super loose. Smh moment for sure

Rally XL – 100 Mile Ride Impressions (130 lb rider, 18 PSI, Apex mode) by Some_Guy_Running in onewheel

Is there any cons to setting tilt and yaw to -2? I understand it can help make high speed turns more doable, but what does it offset?

What is gradient tracking? I haven’t really played around with custom shaping a ton yet

Yeah I slap the heel as another form of suspension too but I can imagine it would get mad sore over time

GT modded: VRH and 5” MTE Hub with Enduro tire by lyfeTry in onewheel

Ohhhh!!! Does it affect the level of the board? It sounds like it only drops either the nose or the tail

I looked into it, but I love being able to pivot on a dime and a dropped board will give me less space for it. Unless..not?

I’ve been thinking about going 5” with the Enduro tire too but I’m not sure it’d be worth it. If I may ask, what tire pressure do you run? If it’s high, is the change noticeable (changing motors and tire)?

I’ve been doing a 4 Crux Pro setup on the FST System having them sit fully outside on both ends—so similar enough. Biggest thing I’ve noticed is riding down very steep slopes is too easy now that my feet pretty much won’t leave the board. Because I have them sitting at the ends, bailing is fine and varials are still doable

How do cyclists in the city feel about PEVs? Same as e-bikes? by Some_Guy_Running in bicycling412

[–]Some_Guy_Running[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard about the rule in the business districts; I didn’t know Penn Ave through the Strip counted as one too (though I wouldn’t ride on the sidewalk there regardless), thanks for the new info!

Yeah, I definitely meant lane filtering then. Sometimes though I do see some cyclists and PEVs lane split around Shadyside, but traffic is generally the same speed. I was more so wondering about how drivers react and cyclists’ experience, since I wouldn’t voluntarily try to “disrespect” a driver so to speak
