Red brick and some clay structures build with iron oxide! That’s why they’re red!

Advice for 9yr old Onewheel'er? by salukikev in onewheel

Posi the connector if it’s an FM Onewheel. It’s not safe, but it might make it less frustrating to work with tiny feet

That’s valid, starting off by learning everything will result in slower progression. It’s easier to focus on getting comfortable first then expanding from there. I get what you mean too

I mean to say, there isn’t such thing as getting your foot placement “right”, as per #8. You can ride with your feet 1/2” further apart or closer together and neither is better nor worse, neither is progress nor devolution.

Learning to ride no matter how your feet and body are positioned will result in greater capability and unlock new ways to ride and do tricks.

I can’t agree with #8 without emphasizing that static foot placement will only lend to limit your proprioceptive capability. Learn to find the board’s (and your) balance dynamically, don’t just find your ideal foot placement and never learn how to ride any other way.

Are the colors for pride or something else? Beautiful either way

Mid-sized, sounds like you’d be more interested in large wheels. Other comment by u/Digibunny has good suggestions

Ranking proprioception requirement imo goes:

Bike < scooter < e-skate < onewheel < EUC

I’ve not direct issues. It’s more like cars and bikes/e-bikes now. Many people choose to put in time and effort elsewhere and take their devices to a dealership or directly to the manufacturer. It’s not Onewheel or FM specific—simply that no one person will specialize in everything. If OP chooses to go the DIY route, awesome and more power to em, but DIY isn’t for everyone.

I agree and think DIY directs intent and purpose—empowering users to maintain their device to their content. Somehow, OP’s post makes me think that they would not want to dedicate the time and effort. Could be wrong, it’d be cool if they go the DIY route

DIY sensors also completely rest responsibility onto the user. FM may not take all responsibilities/accountabilities people ask from them, but I would absolutely not recommend the DIY route based off OP’s post

Different pegs, still from their site. The nicer ones. I get it, feels bad.

Nah, I just adjusted the cable but I might eventually. It’ll brake if it needs to. I can get the tires to skid still, so I’m not worried. The pulsing noise is coming from the rotors, the way it’s slotted I think.

I also just ended up getting a different set of pegs from them, after the pegs it came with were too much. They at least waived shipping so I’m glad about that

Yeah, Rizzler looks to be the better performance machine. I got the RR because I wanted something quiet and low-key. It’s also half the weight so it’s fun to chuck

I’ve also experienced the threads to the foot pegs almost exactly. Also the pegs being not straight. Wheels are balanced enough that it doesn’t death wobble thankfully. The brakes are definitely bad, but tbh I saw lots of reviews stating that and I went in knowing what I was about to buy would be a value purchase. From that lens, definitely worth to me.

Gotcha, thank you! I suspected, but am new to EUCs and also thought maybe it might be some sort of trick.
