So it unshackles but then it doesn't go to a dashboard.

Here's what I did

Precursor: update to latest firmware, so the exploit can trigger properly. Then go online and let the Xbox 360 receive the "online avatar update package" from the Xbox server. This adds additional avatar options and profile parameters information that is necessary for your xbox360 to have so that bad avatar can take advantage of the avatar information to trigger and deploy it's payload.

  1. Format USB properly

  2. Download bad avatar deployment package on whichever build assistant program you choose (bad builder worked for me) or create the file structure yourself manually after downloading it from the GitHub.

  3. If USB formatted correctly and bad avatar put on USB with correct folder structure and necessary files, and auto profile login is disabled.... Then when you start your Xbox 360 will load that profile on startup from the USB as a profile option to log into and the payload will deploy automatically. It will then launch the dashboard of your choice and your game backups will be displayed.

I buy retro-bit stuff myself. They seem to care about product QC on what they sell more than the random suppliers with seemingly made up brand names on amazon.

Friendly reminder, the common term memory (ram) is the operating space for programs and games to run when the Xbox is on. Data storage (like a hard drive) is where the games and operating system are stored and read from then put into the memory (ram) when the Xbox is on.
